LFG 3.3 First day experiences

It's like the people that used to schedule raids on Tuesdays. The server isn't stable on Tuesdays, and if it's playable at all on a patch Tuesday you can count yourself ahead.

Basically updated all my addons and fixed all the weirdness related to those.

I did manage to zone into FoS normal (once I found the damn place!), but didn't do much due to instability concerns.

I tried the new LFG function and it sent me to Occulus and then crashed. Just wanted to try it out, never intended to run anything tonight.

Things look very promising so far.

I couldn't even get on my server until around 7:30est, and by then it was time for raid. So we cleared out what's available in ICC and killed XT for the raid weekly quest. But after that I was able to at least do one pug with my three box team.

I think it took less than five minutes til I got paired with a tank and healer for CoS. I got the loading screen, and then it sat there for like 3 minutes, and then I was back in Dalaran with the debuff and the tank and healer bailed. But the LFG interface popped up with a "A member has left your group, would you like to try and replace them?" so I said yes to that and it got me a new tank and healer in just a couple minutes and allowed me to actually port to the instance.

From there it was pretty much smooth sailing. They had never run with a multiboxer before, but seemed to accept it as an unusual but acceptable practice. And the DE roll is so convenient. I was honestly hoping for a greater reaction, since I still get people on my server who seem wary about grouping with me and then tank or heal one of my heroic runs and are absolutely blown away.

It's currently 1 am CST, and i STILL can't log in. I manage to get to the character selection screen and then get the "you have been disconnected from the server" message.

I am wondering if this is realm specific, or possibly location related.

Hopefully, it will be working when I get home from work later this morning.

Did daily random, a random heroic, and forge of souls. (would have done more but so many crashes and "too many instance errors".)

My day was AWESOME.

First, log in and do a random daily just on my tank. Halls of Stone. I chain pull the whole thing, I think Divine Plea falls off maybe once. Easy kill.

Next it's raid time with my guild. We kill the first two ICC 25 bosses, 1-shot then 5-shot, and save the other two for later in the week.

Then I scrape up 9 people for Malygos (the weekly raid quest) and we 1-shot it while getting the 6 minute achievement.

I fire up the 5-box team and queue for a random heroic and get Violet Hold. Easy bosses, the rest of my team gets all their free frost emblems.

Tomorrow I will attempt the new 5-mans...

My first draw was ... Oculus. Hrm. I'd only tried this on regular and failed badly, but gave it a shot on heroic and wiped at Eregos. I think I grasp the fight now, but I'll try it again some other time ... didn't wanna spend all of 3.3 Day One messing with Oculus macros, y'know?

Second was UtK. Nooo problem. First two Emblems of Frost, woot! Then UP, which always scares me even though Skadi isn't the brick wall he used to be. Got through it with only one almost-wipe. And persuaded Svala to kill a Scourge Hulk for the achievement.

Now I'm in FoS, having just completed my ten-minute corpserun. Finding the goddamn portal is MURDER when you haven't seen it outside of ghost-o-vision. Is there a way to turn that shit off, or turn it down? It's a very pretty effect except when it's frustrating the hell out of you because everything is light bluey grey on light bluey grey, with shades of light bluey grey for contrast. FoS itself is all right, but it's moving slowly enough right now that it's not exactly fun, just interesting to see something new.

The new dungeon finder is quite nice. No more flying around to get to instances, free emblems for using the random option and some extra gold.

And to my surprise: The system isn't too picky with lockout timers. Ran 3 daily heroics with my main team and decided to use my healer to get emblems of frost with another team of mine. Even though my priest was locked to DTK, OK and HoL I got into another DTK. Well, easy heroic ftw.
