    Default WoW - Picking Professions.

I think I have decided to do tailoring on my 4 priests for sure. That makes alot of the cloths that have cool downs.

Now I need to figure out what to do as a secondary profession for my priests, and the two for my palladin.

I did enchanting as a second profession for one of my priests, and near as I can tell I can't gain anything by having a second person in the group have enchanting also.

I have never done alchemy but am wondering if that would be a good way to go. They have transumtes on timers don't they? I guess i would need the primal mights to make the cloths so I guess that would really be the only way to go.

Alchemy and Tailoring for my 4 priests.

Now how about my pallie? Maybe engineering and mining?

anyone have any opinions on this? Thanks!

    Hey,
when you level, skill mining and herbs because it's a pain to do later and always good to have (if you use more than one screen make sure the minimaps of the gatherers are as close as possible to your main screen so you won't miss a node.
When you have a crafting slot empty go alchemy. It's easy to skill up (herbs till 300 are cheap in the AH) and you can use the transmute timer (and procs if you go master transmuter).
I also like having a jewelcrafter but I think that it might work to buy your gems in the ah.

Hmm, so how about on my pally if I do enchanting/mining or jewel crafting, and on my priests tailoring/alchemy.

Make one of the priests a herby at least, that way you have the herbs to level alchemy. I'd personally have a miner/skinner as the leader, and a herby as one of the followers. Then tailoring for the clothies if you want it on all 4. Leaves you 3 spots for alchemy, JC and enchanting.

    Pali: Mining/Skinning
    p1: herbs/tailoring
    p2: alch/tailoring
    p3: ench/tailoring
    p4: jc/tailoring

Of course if you don't need the gold from skinning, which is also alot more time spent gathering and less killing stuff, then don't bother with it

I have never got alchemy over about 100 in my life, and im not too familiar with that aspect of the game, but I was under the impression that to create some of the specialized cloths, such as primal mooncloth, shadow cloth, ect... it requires primal mights which are received from transumutes, which have cooldowns and is from alchemy right?

So, if I have 4 priests with tailoring, then unless I can find someones willing to do the transmutes, I would be stuck with the ability to create the cloth's, but not all of the materials to create them?

That is why I was kind of thinking of sticking with alchemy for the secondary professions on all my priests.

Maybe I will do herbalism and mining on my pally and just save up the ore, then once I hit 70 I can drop herbalism since by then my priests will hopefully pretty much all be leveled. Then I can drop mining (since his jewel crafting will be leveled up) and get enchanting which is easy enough to level at the lower levels since I can farm all the magic stuff to disenchant.

I really hate swapping screens to do herblism/mining and would prefer to keep gathering professions on my main guy.

Would be nice to have a specific person who keeps all the gathering professions so I don't have to buy those items from the AH.

Mining/herbalism are good because they tend to be steady moneymakers, and mining gets used by so many professions (smithing, jewelcrafting, engineering).

Having a jewelcrafter is a nice complement to your enchanter once they start getting gear with gem slots. No need to find people to provide enchants or gems, which is nice (especially for multiple characters).

A nice thing about having skinning on your main is to be able to tell if a skinnable mob has a quest item on it for one of your toons. If the skinning mouse cursor doesn't show after fully looting it with your main, it has an item for one of your toons.

Not a big deal, but useful every once in a while.
