Elemental Shaman DPS Macro

I have a question about the click macro for elemental shamans (See Below). I've successfully done two days of daily farming, but it would seem as if my shaman DPS is a bit low. I'm not sure if it's my gear, or if it's me not using this macro correctly.

Could I ask those of you who are familiar with it a favor and look at Arlessa, Arlissa, and Arlossa (Use the links above my avatar to the left). They all should basically be indentical. I'm getting about 2.2k DPS with them according to recount. Monsters seem to go down pretty quick, but the numbers are not the big numbers I see other post.

For reference, a few things. Elemental mastery is not workd into my rotation yet, mainly because I wanted to see how I did without having it auto go offf when cooldown was up. Secondly, all three DPS have totem of wrath (With Glyph), and so they drop it down, and only if they get swarmed do I actually drop a few fire DPS totems down.

Those two reasons could be the basis of it, but i heard someone mention in another thread that Lightning Bolt spam alone should be around 2k dps, and so with this macro I'm concerneda bout the 2.2k.

I'm not sure if I'm not spamming it fast enough, spamming it too fast, or doing something else wrong. When testing out this macro on test dummies in Ironforge, the heroic dummy was showing around 3k DPS (or at least high 2k's).

Maybe I shouldn't read too much into recount, because I don't feel like I'm struggling with downing monsters by any means. (My first 5 heroic runs were done with no deaths basically). I just want to make sure i'm using this macro correctly.

Is it spam away as fast as you can?

The number of commas are based on how many times you'll push the button in the time it takes before you want to cast the spell again.
Based on the 44 commas in the your lava burst sequence, that would indicate it is tuned to pressing the button about 7.33 times per second.
Personally I've tuned my /click sequence on my main to about 5 times per second.
You'll just have to practice on a target dummy and see if you feel the spells are going off when they should, and adjust as needed.

Also, check to see if recount is showing overall data, or, current fight. For a while i thought i was doing low -2000, 3000 dps- until i checked out current fight on bosses, when i was pleased to see numbers akin to that posted by others.

That's a good point. DPS on recount does seem to go down during the trash runs and such. So I'll pay attention to what it looks like on bosses only now and see what's up.

When I was testing on the target dummy, it appeared as if Flame Shock was going off when it should have. I didn't check the cool downs on anything else, however. So I'll keep poking around.

Again, I'm cleaning these heroics fairly easily, I feel. Just was a bit disappointed by the numbers I saw on recount yesterday.

Open a word or notepad.

Spam a key away for 10 or 15 seconds.
Using your watch or a clock to time with.

Divide the number of characters spammed, by the time you spammed them.
That is your clicks per second.

Google Search: wowwiki +abilities +class
Fine the duration or cooldown of your spells.

Multiply your clicks per second by the duration/cooldown until you want it to recast.

For a DoT or HoT effect, you want it to run its course, even though you can recast it earlier.
I will generally use reset=target for these.
So if I change targets, the new target gets the cast immediately.

For things with a cooldown, I use reset=combat.
I don't want my Lava Burst to attempt to cast but be on cooldown, even if I change targets.

I reset Recount before some of the boss fights in Gundrak yesterday, and I was much happier with the numbers I was seeing. I think my elemental shamans were around 3.4k DPS, or so. And that seems a lot more realistic, since I'm dropping bosses pretty fast.

I came very close to less-rabi, but I always seem to fail the interrupt that's around 20%.

The cast time of his transform is reduced equal to his health %, so at 20% it will be 20% of the length is has when he is at 100%.

As for recount, I like to keep the option to only keep segments for boss fights, so you can go back and see how you did on each boss. And to have the default showing be current fight instead of overall, so you'll see how you did the last fight without any extra clicking.

Your "mash" button, with all the /Click commands can be on any keybind you like.
Most would put it on "1", but that doesn't really matter.

The example given, will simultaneously push the other four buttons.
WoW executes macros top down.
But can only do one action which triggers the GCD at a time.
But on the commas, where nothing happens, the next can execute, and so on.
By timing the commas appropriately, and spamming at a consistent speed, you can have the recast fire off at the proper time.

You'll want to adjust the commas, so Flame Shock hits almost immediately after it expires.
You do not want to recast, before it expires.
And you don't want to have it not ticking.

The Lava Burst and Chain Lightning, should fire as soon as they're off of cooldown.
Adjust commas, as required.

Looking at the commas in these macros, you will probably need to spam at 3.5 to 4 clicks per second.
Open Word or Notepad, and spam a key for 10 seconds.
Count the keys spammed, and divide by 10.
That gets you your spams per second.
You'll want one comma, per the number of keys you spam each second, after each spell based on refresh.
So if Flame Shock ticks for 18 seconds, you'll want 18 x (YOUR spam speed per second) commas.
Similarly Lava Burst has an 8 second cooldown, so add 8 x (YOUR spam speed per second) commas.
Then when you're done, visit a target dummy and fine tune your commas.

The Lightning Bolt is the fall through, so you don't need anything special on this one.

MultiBarRight refers to the further right, of the two vertical extra button bars (default UI).
You can also use MultiBarLeft, for the left most of the two vertical bars.
And then MultiBarBottomLeft and MultiBarBottomRight, are the two horizontal extra bars.
Button1 through Button12 are valid buttons for each bar.

If you use Dominos, Bartender or Macaroon, the buttons are named differently.
But you can still have /Click call each button.
