fender967 : I see your point. I'm around 35 atm with my toons and i'm power lvling them with my feral atm.. It works fine. High armor, 15k HP and healing on crit each 6 sec.. And ofc.. Swip in bear from is quite effective as an aoe. Hits 3 mobs for 600 each, each 1 sec.. and you have a white hit on 700-1500 each 2,5 sec.. But its preaty much the fast swiping that down the mobs..

I would think that atleast in LBRS which is quite big and long distances you would really want to pull alot and kill them close to your alt, but a warrior would do a weak job on keeping agro and aoe up on them for sure.. So i would say that a feral or a hunter as you say would must likely do a much faster job.

Read this post last week and started boosting my 4x shammies and 1x pally with my 70 holy pally. I got from level 22 to 37 in 3 days (not playing time...didn't keep track of it unfortunately - prob around 6-7 hours maybe?).

The pally worked out great and with seal of wisdom, one mana stream totem, and heals from the shammie, I'd complete a 15-20 mob pull and have 100% health and atleast 75% mana remaining. While I may not be able to kill as quickly as a mage, I really limited any downtime. Also wearing plate helps!

Down side is that it is pretty boring. I think it was the 15th or so run of armory where I almost cleared the instance, but somehow fell asleep in between pulls. I woke up and found that a repop had killed my whole team!

So now the shammies are 37 and the prot pally is 34. The pally is a little behind because I concentrated on the shammies originally with the 70 pally. Then I bit the bullet and got a 6th account. Now I rotate the pally in the shammie team and is working quite nicely.

I'm going to try ZF at 35 as I'm sooo done with SM!

edit: Last 10 or so runs i stopped looting as it was taking me forever to loot and to deal with the loot (vendor, mail to bank alt, etc).

For those having problems in ZF with totems, make a macro for one of your casters. /target Healing or Magma totem, /shoot wand, etc. Then hotkey it somewhere handy. Worked pretty well for me.

The personal path that I have been following:

Leveled to 20 in BE starting area (great XP, honestly just as quick to plow your way thru than repeated RFC runs)
    20-25 SFK
    25-30 RFK
    30-38 SM CATH/ARM
    38-40 ULDA
    40-45 ZF

I am using a Level 70 Frost Mage in blue and green gear. Nothing fancy at all. The only place I have had a problem was the Earthen and Golems in ULDA. The Earthen are immune to Frost Nova and the Golems have the ablity to completely lock down a caster even a level 70. I actually almost wiped one time due to this fact.

I have heard people say that ZF can be tricky for a mage but I didn't have any problems with the runs I have done in ZF. I had two Epic world drops in a single run that netted me 150 gold so I personally liked those ZF runs. That plus AOE = MAD XP in the Scarab area, zombie area and the stairs.

Right now I am running thru quest and intend on hitting Sunken Temple at 50. I am a bit concerned that ST onward might be a bit much for my Mage though.
Pillage 80 Human DK, Kasini 71 NE Druid, Lato 71 BE Mage, Kawmisir 70 BE Pally, Akinta 65 NE Hunter, Raco 61 Dranei Shaman on Ravencrest Multibox Projects: 3 Elem Shaman / 2 Moonkin and group 2 is 4 Affliction Locks / 1 Holy Priest

I've found stockades to be far better than SM for 20-25. On my mage I can do it in 4 pulls (middle, left, and 2 for the right because they knockdown.) About 6m for a run, ~3.5 runs per level. I've just been doing a few runs for 30-45m during lunch. Level 24 with 10h playtime.
Agreed. Did the same thing on my pally the last couple of days. Too bad you can only do 5 runs before you have to wait an hour Still worth it imo.

I have been planning on trying this method as soon as my initial 3 chars make it to 70. I have a couple questions about the 40+ levels though. I've read that ZF is best from ~40-50.

    Jubb ZF is the place.

    • How do you manage to do ZF with a mage with all the ranged/casters there? Do you use blizzard or just AE/CoC/Blast Wave?

I just went in and wtf owned, pull normal pacs and just los them (i had no healing alts ant it was all ok)

    • Would a hunter work for 50+ in LBRS or eventually Ramparts?

    • No idea, i stopped boosting at lvl 50+ but i had my lvl 70 in the grp all the way to lvl 70.
Right now I am leveling three characters on a new server: Hunter, Druid, and Mage. They are 40 right now. After they hit 70 I will be boosting 3 Shaman. Basically, i'm trying to figure out what classes are capable of doing this 45+ and what the best way to go about this is.

Id go for mage, or pally.

    • Is there anything besides a Warrior that works for instance grinding 45+?

Well i used a mage in ZF to lvl 50 and then boosted quests, quest boosting is almost as fast.
    sos for the l8 responce

    Re: SFK

The minimum level to enter is now level 10

You will aggro the mobs to the right of the entrance if u enter at 15 or below - send yr main in first to clear the first 4 mobs.

There are some magic immune mobs in the instance so be careful (I have been boosting with my Bear so no probs there)

The fastest way to clear that i have found is to leave yr alts next to the 'cage' wall in front of the entrance and pull yr mobs back into range for exp gain.

Pull 1) Everything down to the jail - release the prisoner and get the courtyard open
Pull 2) Clear the courtyard (very easy)
Pull 3) Run through the kitchen area where the Butcher / Baron bosses are , up the stairs turn right and go back to the courtyard down the ramp - kill in the courtyard.
Pull 4) Back through the kitchen, up the stairs turn left pull everything out onto the Battlements and kill (the battlements are right above the point where u left yr alts)
Pull 5) Run through everything up to Fenrus (the wolf boss) , run back to the second battlements area and kill.

I stop at this point as the number of remaining mobs and the distance to run to pull them makes it not worthwhile

Your alts never need to leave the starting area

Takes me 12-13 mins so I am right on the time limit.
