    Default warlock vs shaman

    hi all,

Lately i have been wondering if it would be a good asset to the team to switch one of my shaman's for a warlock.
I currently run a dk tank, a resto shaman and 3 ele shaman's. all at 80

Would a warlock increase the group dps? ( i have one at 75-ish)

The pet alone would add quite a bit of health to the party.
Curse of the elements should up the spelldmg done by 10%, wich is quite a bit.

any toughts ? or should i just stick to the elemental shammy's

To my knowledge the DK tank should already give you the increased spell damage debuff? If thats just a specced thing then the lock would increase your damage quite significantly. The other thing that you forgot is the improved shadowbolt debuff for 5% extra crit which is pretty big (again specced).

On the other hand having a different class in your party does give u more things to think about. I dropped a shaman for a balance druid, and while I have grown to love it now it did take me a long time to get used to him, and for a long time i was wishing I had kept with 4 shamans. Having more to think about itsnt neccesarily a bad thing though because it means you have more options. Healthstones, pet offtanks, fear bombs, are all things that could have come in very handy for my party at times

My DK tank now indeed has http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=51161

increases magical dmg taken by 13%. I don't know if the warlock's curse would stack on top of it tho.

    edit :

nvm , one comment on the spell : this does not stack with Earth and Moon (Moonkin) and a talented Curse of Elements (affliction)

dont switch unless you switch tank to paladin, if you do that you will benefit a lot more from warlock, locks dps for heroics will be similar to shamans.

I've been running a paladin+4 shammys team, and I just got my new warlock to 80 today, switched out my lowest DPS shaman and I saw a increase in damage immediately. Broke pretty much all my "timed kills" with the new setup, even though she is freshly dinged 80(sitting at 2k dps vs my old shaman's 2.7k) and the rest is full ToC HC gear(I'm guessing it not that big a jump).

    No totally seperate debuff

The ToW one is the same debuff as Heart of the Crusader (Pally) and Master Poisoner (Rogue)

Edit - Here is a list that was given to us with patch 3.02 I have taken out some things that are no longer valid but I may have missed some.

Hmm ya I think they dont stack, so if you have a mage and shaman, the debuff will be 5% crit and the 3% of totem will be lost.
