Default Please describe YOUR most effective way to funnel money between ally and horde toons on same server

I hope this is not against the ToC...frankly, I can't see how it could be

My server population is rumored to be 2.25:1 in favor of horde. I took a look at the prices of high end mats and they're significantly cheaper on the horde side. I had created a bunch of rogues for the pilgrim achievement and ended up parking one in Org and using my ally druids, I escorted another to Booty Bay. I put up some junk for sale on the horde toon and bought it using the ally toon. Wow, needless to say I was a bit shocked by the AH fee charged for this. I offered up the junk at around 1k gold. I think the AH fee was like 150g if I'm not mistaken.

Does anyone else here do this?

If so, is the rate charged by the neutral AH a scaling one? or is it always a fixed %?

Is there a more effective way?

Thanks for your help as always.

The neutral AH is a fixed%.. I have been doing this for a while now selling Tourney pets to the other side. it is a flat 15% fee like you found out. So whether you sell it for 1g or 10000g.. its always 15%.

The best way would be to sell your opposite faction toon a 1 copper item through the AH, like DE materials or frozen orbs, and buy it immediately then resell it on the auction house on the other side.

^ this is probably the best way to minimize the loss.

I end up just transfering money and taking the hit on the auction house fees.

Best thing is to buy stuff that sells well and just transfer it for like 5-10g. Enchanting mats, gems, Faction pets, crusader orbs and stuff. That really have no listing price and move the items. I made thousands (like 20k) just off of selling pets back and forth for like 2 weeks. Once you get about 3-4k gold on each side, you can make tons of cash.

Be careful of Ah snipers that steal your stuff if you sell it cheap. Do it at off times or when you are sure no one is around. I've had a few pets bought out this way.. even though I had both my windows open and tried to sell and buyout at the same time.. Now that both sides have a fair chunk of change I don't mind taking the hit from the fees by listing them higher. I at least have my items safe from bots and what not.

Being a multiboxer, one theoretical way to keep that from happening would be to place characters at each neutral AH and have them on simultaneously in order to be sure that noone else is near a neutral auctioneer anywhere. Bit overkill I guess, but for the paranoid, or someone that knows for sure that someone is out to get them, it would be the best way to be safe.

Just raising a point, something that you need to be aware of. I don't believe it to be a huge issue but its something to be consciensous about. was not happy to see my 160 seals worth of pets bought out by someone for a total 4g. lol.
