Battle Net, is basically the same as the old account management.

Log into your B.Net account, go to the account you want to refer from.
    Send the RAF invite email.

Use the email to create the account.
Upgrade to a retail version with a battlechest or vanilla wow.
Link the account to your existing B.Net account (this assumes you are keeping all 4 new accounts, for a total of 5).
Go to the new accounts management (should be a drop down box) within the B.Net.
Send the RAF invite out the same way, this time from B...

If you are keeping all of the accounts, then you can have them on the same B.Net if you like.
The advantage of this, is much easier account management.
There are rumors that bound to account items, might eventually be bound to B.Net items.

You can also do one B.Net per account, or five B.Net accounts in total.
If you are using an authenticator to protect your accounts, then one code can simultaneously get all the games into wow.
In this case, the links are the same as before, just invite the new account to its own B.Net rather then the B.Net of the first account.

Don't do "a-b-c-d-e" just because you heard it's "the best" - actually it is not good at all if you want to do 5 man teams with 1 A booster for instance...

The link that you go with will depend on what you are starting with and what you are keeping.

If you have a single existing account, which already has several toons of 60th or higher level on it, then a chain will be the best method to link with, because you get the most total levels across the team.

If you have five brand new accounts, with no booster on any of them, the chain will still get you the most total levels granted across the account.

If you have minimal characters on the first account, but one of them will effectively boost, and you want to end up with a lot of teams, then a chain is not the best way to go, since the first account will basically end up with half as many toons as the other accounts in the chain.

If you are already a four boxer, and want to go to five accounts, and let's say you already have eight toons on the four accounts... which means you want as many toons as possible on the new account. You might set up like this: A -- B, A -- C, A -- D, and A -- E. "A" being the account which you are keeping to join the existing four, and B-E being disposable new accounts. Transfer a toon to be the "booster" on any of the accounts other then A. Then use this account to boost A + the other three. If you boosted three toons to 60th (lets say A, B, C and D, with E as the booster), then A has three toons already, and will receive 90 granted levels from three different accounts, each of which can boost up to 60th.

If you have two existing accounts, you'd want both to refer, since that way they can each get RAF experience.

If you have three existing accounts, then you'd want to refer from two of the three, so you have four toons with RAF experience, and a booster on the fifth.

In the end, it really depends on how many accounts you are starting with, how many accounts you are keeping, and what level toons you already have on the account(s) you already have.

    I would go with a chain, A -- B -- C -- D.
Level a Prot-Paladin or Feral-Druid on A, with whatever you want on B-C-D.

Once you get the team to 60th, run most of the Hellfire quests.
The focus here is gearing the toon on Account A a bit.
Burning Crusade gear is far and away better then old world gear.

Then take your 60/61 tanking toon on A.
And use it to boost three toons on B-C-D.
You should have no issues with boosting three toons to at least 50th.
Rapidly run them through quests, once you reach an instance you cannot solo.

    That gets you...
    A) Level 60/61 Tank + Another 60 via granted levels from B.
    B) Level 60/61 + Level 60 Boosted + Another 60 via granted levels from C.
    C) Level 60/61 + Level 60 Boosted + Another 60 via granted levels from D.
    D) Level 60/61 + Level 60 Boosted.

Then you have the option of boosting more, via the Tank on A.
Or leveling as a 4x group.

The boosting will get you a lot more teams, but only half as many toons on A.
And D will only have as many toons as you boost, since they aren't getting granted levels at all.
Still, you could boost quite a few teams, and easily have a Tank + Healer + 1-2 others on A.
And a lot of options on B-C, with several on D.
If you wanted, you could toon transfer from B/C to A/D.
Or just go with more toons from RAF on BC then AD.

    Have they changed RAF?

Previously having a booster linked to a boostee killed the xp bonus. A high level Toon on A would stop the xp bonus for Toon on B when linked A-B-C-D-E.

Sorry if i missed the memo.
