Default Best place to defend as Horde in AV?

Like most posts these last few days AV in where the honor still is. I changed my team from alliance to horde recently and realize now that honor is alot slower horde side then alliance. I could honor cap in three days on alliance from AV alone. Now Horde are lucky to win 1 outta 10 games.

Anyways to my point. Most of the time alliance zerg is always fast then horde zerg. Where do you guys think the best spot is to setup shop to slow the alliance down as much as possible even if you get wrecked??

Between iceblood graveyard and iceblood tower. You'll get wrecked if you're alone after they kill galv though, so you may want to go straight to stonehearth to cap the gy and kill balinda, then fall back and recap iceblood tower, graveyard, and towerpoint. Holding these three close proximity flags will almost always guarantee you at the very least a reinforcements win. Watch out for mass spawns from snowfall though, sometimes you'll get a wave of 15+. If you have even just a few decent geared tanks and healers on offense they'll be able to down Van before alliance realizes they have 2 marshals for their own healers to deal with on Drek and their ezmode rush was just countered by a boxer holding 2 towers.

These are mostly going to be long drawn out games though. It's extremely lame how skewed in favor the map is towards alliance. Horde can't just ezmode rush Drek while watching a movie and eating chinese food for wins. You'll never win the rush against alliance unless your 40 outgears and outplays their 40 by a long shot.

The best place I found to D for Horde is... In an Alliance bunker The D you put up isn't going to significantly change most battles when you're on the Horde team except if you can ensure that a bunker burns. It's more honor and you're more likely to cause Horde to win. Just playing D at a choke point is ineffective in my experience--I've done both sides of the battle on the exact same toons.

I have to second the middle towers. I have had great results killing balinda then falling back to retake IBT and TP.

Its not always the most fun job but it does usually give my team the time they need to burn towers and kill Van quite abit of the time. I'm not sure if its fastest honor, sometimes its faster honor to lose quick and burn a few towers then have a really slow reinforcement win which happens when horde actually see me defending and come to help out creating a turtlefest.

Maybe my next team ill make will be alliance now that 3.3 will allow BoA stuff to be mailed cross faction.

Lately on my BG it seems like the only way either side plays is just to cap towers on the way to van/drek and then just tank all 4 adds while killing them. Nobody waits for anything to cap anymore, not even a graveyard.

So, I just run w/ group to kill galv/balinda and then head back to van/drek and IWIN button their tank and if I can fear some healers around before I get exploded. With all four tower adds up it's a pretty quick wipe that sends them packing.

When it comes to AV Alliance is definitely favored these days. This was not always the case. Horde started further North and was able to choke IceBlood effectively. The matches were much longer than.

Some battlegroups have been successful in AV but it takes organization. Alliance has a few other advantages.

    - They can knock Horde off the Bridge, Tower Archers have a clearer line of sight, Towers are in their city, Relief Hut Flag is near their NPC's.

The most successful strat I have seen is Killing Balinda, and back capping. I am not a big fan of defending Galv it usually leads to a turtle as any Alliance killed will spawn at the top of the map.

Generally speaking, the game goes one of two ways on my battlegroup.

Both sides race, and the alliance wins 95% of these games.
The horde only wins these games if they successfully backcap while the alliance does not, and the alliance decides to wait for towers to burn.

The alliance wipes at Galv or there is a massive choke at Iceblood GY/Tower. It becomes an attrition battle, where the horde wins 80% of these.

Overall, alliance wins 2 in 3 AV's, in my experience.

From my experience, the highest success rate as a horde boxer would be to take out an alliance back-cap team, and to back-cap two towers.
Then to use the trinket-hearth and defend/delay the final fight.

    My post from another thread

"Nono not exactly, AV is sucky for Horde here too . It's just that having a multiboxer can really imo change things. Most of my friends just don't do any AVs at all because it really sucks (solo) and they have almost the opposite %.

I've done hundreds and hundreds of AVs, people start knowing me and playing it as I stated in my post. That helps a lot, a multiboxer cannot win alone oc . If you manage to keep those 5-8 around you in defense you win most of the time.
Even when it turns out really bad I cannot even count how many AVs I've won after losing all towers and defending our king with a few more people.

That strategy, defend Galva for a while (very important: defend like once and then just go to towers, leave it alone for them to kill), recover towers, kill anyone going south, defend southern graveyards and above all motivating those few players to stay with you all it does in fact is giving Horde time to "breathe". The terrain favors alliance so the strategy is gain time so our guys can go north, cap a couple of towers and kill the king.
If you see that alliance isn't moving fast as they usually do, you can move north and cap one DB tower (I'm able to cap it almost all the time as they don't get organized to defend it..., sometimes I even cap both).
Vanndar is killable with two marshalls up even without a tank. Just tell a healer to spam heal on ONE of your elementals, pop all 4. That, along with some more dpsers around (not many needed) and your huge burst drops their king in no time.

I never ever attack as a main strategy. People (other players) appreciate that, see that I play the game and are then willingly helping me defending."

    I usually go for:
    /bg defend galvangar!
    /bg defend galvangar!

Click on the minimap at galvangar's house. Check howmany people are rushing with you.
Drop totems, fire elemental nova's and bloodlust as soon as you can see the first 5 alliance rush in. Try to defend galvangar, if you did:
Look if towers are captured and recapture them back.
    If you died:
Ressurect at iceblood graveyard and check if there are any towers captured by the alliance and take them back.
Then you can either decide to help your horde buddies north or you can go down to Frostwolf Keep and see if you can recap Frostwolf Graveyard, East and South tower.

Thats usually what i do. When i play with multiple multiboxers we start defending galvangar and usually survive that. Recap Iceblood and Towerpoint towers by multiboxer A.

Multiboxer B goes down to Frostwolf Keep and he will capture and destroy everthing in his path.

My games usually take 15-20 minutes, and i get 1200 honor for a loss, 2200 honor for a win.

Comes at 5-7k honor an hours, not that bad i think. I have more succes for honor farming AV 8 hours a day instead of farming 6x a mark for the turn-in quest. I dislike WSG and AB because they used to take ages, haven't played them since they have implented the 15 minute max games.

I suggest you try both techniques and look what works out best for you

You could get a honor item every 1.5 days i think.

    Kind regards,

    Team Overdose

PS: Don't forget to go to Wintergrasp, do daily PVP quests (yes i dont do the AB/WSG ones).
