Default How to have your toon follow closer?

Just trying to figure out how to have my second toon follow more closely. They get caught behind things and such.

Also, assuming i had a 2 rogue or warrior setup, how to get them in range for attacking?

You can't use 2 Melee characters effectively, its pretty much impossible/Annoying.
As for your toon getting stuck, just make sure you avoid stuff that he can get stuck on.

I've developed the habit of running wide around all doorways etc, I run past them and then back and through, I even do this alot when playing solo... just one of the things you have to learn to live with

You could run past the mob with your main, and turn around. You'd end up with your rogue and warrior on each side of the mob, both facing it. Still, it would be tricky to move around, chasing or switching targets and so on.

what i do when i want to melee is I sort of setup 'camp' by running my characters to a point on follow then tap the sidestep key to break autofollow and drop buffing totems. then when I pull I walk all the way back so they are all standing on top of each other. That way they are all facing the same direction and all the same distance from the mob.

This is much easier said than done, ask any tank. Once you get into aggro range of the mob the mob will start moving towards you so just running through it sounds much simpler than it actually is. And when you move sometimes the mob will path all around the place as well taking it out of melee range of your 2nd char.

Try positioning 3 mobs in front of you as a tank when you body pull.

QFT, the times I have tried to do this sort of thing with my shamans the mob almost always paths in some random ass direction making everything worse. 5box melee is not something that is spure of the moment IMO it is something you plan to do and set up for it. So if you are taking time to setup a melee pull I find my way suggested above to work best for me, body pulling with your group still in tow is one of the worst.
