Default Anyone boxing with shadow priests?

    Hi!

I'm kinda new to this whole multiboxing thing. I'm just setting up my accounts and transferring characters. What I', wondering that is there anyone who multiboxes with shadow priests?

My intention is to set up following combination:

    - Warrior as tank (already 80, can tank all heroics without troubles)
    - 2x Shadow Priests as DPS
    - Elemental Shaman as DPS
    - Restoration Druid as healer

For a moment I wondered how nice it would be with 5 shadow priests... 5 different mind flays punishing poor mobs... But since I want to do heroics at 80 I decided to create a mixed team.

Shadow priests are fine especially with their support buffs. Their only downside, when it comes to heroics, is their lack of burst damage which comes even more apparent when you run with elemental shamans.

I've been running with 2 elemantal shamans and a spriest for quite some time now and due to their gear and how quick trash dies (heroics) my priest hardly ever casts any dots.

In the end it comes down to personal preferences and shadow priests are more then viable.

Regarding your healer I would rather go for a shaman one and spec your druid to balance which goes quite nicely with your shadow priests (low burst, great dots).

im boxing 4 shamans and a demo lock.

I am really liking the damage they do, even at lvl 76 they will DESTROY any lvl 80 they get the first dot on, and i have more than done my fair share of /superlol at mind sear, which is WAAAAY OP..

In PvP I can see them being fun, but far too squishy. The new buffs are really why I started my team again, and we'll see how much better they are when they have those new buffs, but for now they are fun and only getting better.

I wouldn't say they are bound for a sure-thing 2200 rated 5v5 team, and would blow through every BG they encounter, but its a lot of fun, and thats better than winning sometimes.

For instance... Shadowmelding in a base in AV, and then popping out 4 shadowfiends and aoeing down a bunch of people with Mind Sear.. priceless :P just put it on a melee guy next to the tank on Belinda and watch all the other melee and the tank /loldie

I've got 3 shadow priests as my DPS and they get the job done.

Having 3 of them I get to assign them one group buff each, so I'm not hammering one of their mana to zero on a rebuff. Having them all do VE is fairly effective group healing for themselves in boss fights and i just have the paladin's tank heal rotation throw an occasional flash of light on himself to keep even.

Everything in their achievements list was done as 5man PvE by myself. (links in sig) I'm a very casual player so I won't say it's a long or impressive list, but I don't think I'd have found time for doing more things with some other dps class.

One thing I definately like is the combo heal and aoe from holy nova - sure it breaks shadow form, but it makes a great burst to top everyone off and finish off the lowest mobs in a group that might have swarmed out of control until i can re-agro with the tank.

My biggest problem with all shadow priest groups? Having to switch out of shadowform constantly when doing anything really challenging. Instances at level once you hit BC are either a fear-bomb clusterfuck or hoping they kill off the mobs before dying horribly. I hated the instancing abilities of the group. They were awesome in world PVP and certain encounters due to WoTF + fear ward + massive renews/heals. My main gripe was having to pick between healing and DPS when they started getting beaten on.

I dont much care for this group. Warlocksx4 and 1 healer would be more effective...Or even Warlocksx5. Maybe the new buffs in 3.3 will change my opinion, but Im not holding my breath.

I love priests, my priest grips are more than just for shadow priests.

The spriest rotation is horrid in comparison to other classes for easy of dealing damage, if vampiric embrace was a effect like siphon life is now then perhaps they would have something. If they rolled back or reworked vampiric touch, perhaps to auto refresh on crits.

Channeling is also annoying, gyphing for range is annoying as well but at least you wouldn't have a problem with 4 shadow priests + tank with any range conflicts.

Mass dispel or an equivlent spell should have a coh like targeting system. That template is annoying. Perhaps a glyph that made the dispell magic have the same juice that mass dispell has.

Prayer of mending has logic errors with that many priests or even a number of priests which is a huge issue for running a large number of priests. Similarly the power word shield mechanics makes it rough for using the shield on others intuitively.

There isn't a good shadow hybrid alternative for this group, though having a silence/disarm is nice, really who needs that since they are going to roast single targets great.

    Damn they look cool.

Yeah, there are some issues with Shadow Priests. Bu I'll let my druid do the healing and Shadow Priests may concentrate on dealing damage.

Couple of things also popped into my mind yesterday...

How much do you make money when running heroics or normal mode lvl80 dungeons? I'm wondering how to keep my economy in balance
