Everyone's pretty much said it. Even with 4 naked toons you'll gear up pretty quickly....just don't go making insane pulls

The quest rewards and vend trash you pick up will help you with gold. You could also go and level the gathering skills. Skinning 1-300 only takes about 2 hours....mining around 4. Not sure about herbalism. You can either use the mats to level crafting skills....or just sell them for gold. There aren't many people farming old world mats so they usually sell pretty well.
