Ugh. I'm glad I didn't waste my money. Seems like they're pretty happy with the ban hammer and pissing people off in a brand new game. Won't last long, in my opinion, although it did look promising with the nice graphics.

I wasn't even broadcasting keys, just using innerspace for picture in picture swap with wow.

I'll probably end up not reactivating. But now if I become uber bored with wow I have something else available.

Their response pretty much covers anything and everything you could possibly do to get banned. They didn't say in the reacticvation email what it was specifically. It doesn't say you were banned for using a broadcaster. I'm not sure why people are jumping to that conclusion.

It could have been anything at all. The first response says you were selling kinah (not saying you did at all) and has nothing to do with multiboxing. They don't mention multiboxing at all. Gold selling, third party programs (like glider is what I bet they are referring to) and other activity is what they say.

Hopefully it was just a lame error on their part.

NCSoft has been somewhat vague from start wrt to multiboxing. At this point in time I don't think I would risk multiboxing if I wanted to play long term.

Not to mention that it seems like every Aion player wants to lynch all the botters. What? You're not a botter? Well good luck convincing the ignorant masses you're not botting.

Whether NCSoft actually cares about botting remains to be seen, but if they somehow change their tune I have a feeling that multiboxing will be the victim of collateral damage from any anti-botting movement made by them.

Yeah a while back during beta Ayase said that any form of keyboard broadcasting would be considered "Botting" by their definition. I.E. They consider broadcasting automation.

Many folks tried to convince them otherwise and used blizzards stance as a stand point, but...well... they didnt care heh. So yeah boxing with broadcasting of any kind atm as far as I know is a bannable offense in Aion.

I don't think so - that's only one way to interpret some long random thread on aionsource - I filled a ticket (and suggest anyone do the same) and the reply seems to say it's fine as long as you're present and not botting

In beta they might have been more against the concept, but look what has happened since then.

    1. They removed game guard which blocked many multiboxing programs.
    2. They added an option in the launcher to let you start more than one client on one pc. This feature is obviously for multiboxing.
    3. The article you quoted in the other thread is from July I think. The recent threads are supporting it, but some players still don't like it. Just like in WoW. Your article was from a fan site, not the official AION site.
    4. There are people posting their setups and talking about it on the main aion site. Most people seem to think it is ok, but unfair. That is very different than illegal.
    5. The devs comments on the official site look to me like they are talking about unattended botting, not sitting at your keyboard and playing the game. There comment on the guy who was banned looked like they were talking about botting software, not multiboxing software. I am sure they are being very cautious right now about outright declaring it illegal in game since WoW has allowed it and they are trying to get market share.

Will they ban it? Maybe, but the people I have spoken to at NCsoft when I setup my accounts online said it was fine. I had to call them to get permission to activate more than a couple of accounts. When I spoke with them I told them what I was doing and they said it was ok. They know it is going on and have not said yes or no in a statement on the forums.

I think they have much bigger problems. There are bots in town selling and advertising gold selling sites. If those ever disappear then I'll start to think about it more. There are way too many bots running around for them to worry about legitimate paying customers who are not botting, not selling anything and just want to play the game in a different way.

I'm at level 32 now with 4 characters and another family member has 2 more at 32. I'm uploading a video to Youtube clearing Fire Temple. It's not the best video, but you get to see what boxing is like in AION.

At this point for me I am perfectly happy with what I have done so far. If they change their minds and ban it right now it won't affect me. I'll just put my money elsewhere. On the positive side I'll be one of the few that boxed it before the ban!

They are attempting to automate something that shouldn't be, bans. i ready they have banned 26,000 accounts in the last week or two, honestly i can hardly see a difference on my server, the damn private stores are still at every quest hub and i'm still competting with IIIIiiiiIIIII for quest spawns...

I got visited by a GM in game a couple days ago. It was strange because I kept teleporting back about 100 steps when I would move, much like I was lagging. Then my client crashed. Once I logged back in, I had the same problem but suddnely a GM showed up.
    The conversation went:

    Me: "Reported again? :/"
    GM: "Yup"

    GM disappeared.

I think they will pop in and if you don't respond quickly, then you're assumed to possibly have a game client minimized, and not able to respond quickly enough, leaving them to believe you're using 3rd party software. In my case, I am hardware boxing, so I can see if one of me gets teleported off for a few seconds.

Second, I have to open a support ticket with NCSoft about upgrading my 6 accounts to the collector's edition, where I had to state that I was multiboxing. They basically said "Enjoy your multiboxing!" and gave me the ok to multibox.

So I think they're being strict about the use of 3rd party software, and Innerspace/Keyclone/etc. might be considered illegal by some GM's.

I'm quite sure I've been reported a dozen times or more, and I've only had one visit from a GM, that I know of. I also noticed sometimes, My clients are "disconnected" from the server one by one here and there. None of them disconnect twice, but they all get disconnected at once. I'm guessing that's a GM to see if I "react" to the disconnection, to where a bot wouldn't.

So in short, the GM's know of me and know about my multiboxing and I haven't been banned, suspended or anything of the sort.
