    Default Logitech G13's thumb stick

The G keys are supported by ISboxer. Great feature. However, to be able to use them directly (i.e. use the G13-G1 key in a keymap), all keybinds have to be removed from the Logitech software, and the software has to be turned off. This means that the directional thumb stick isn't usable anymore (I bind it to arrow keys and use it for character movement).

Any way to have both features functional at the same time : G-keys used directly AND functional stick ?

    [Edit]
Now at work, but I cannot stop thinking about this, I know, bad ...

Does the Logitech software have to be closed only to make the M1-M4 key ineffective ? If so, does this means I can have the main keys bound to nothing, the stick bound to direction keys, and let the Logitech software running, as long as I don't mess with the M1-M4 keys ?

These instructions are actually more specific to the G15, where the MR button has macro recording functionality built into it if you have the profiler running. Disabling the profiler is also useful for preventing issues related to the software automatically switching profiles depending on the active application.

So here's the answer as far as what you want to do with the G13.

You absolutely positively can leave the logitech software running. You don't even need to clear the profile. Clearing the profile prevents double-binding and ensures that the user is aware that there are default bindings on the device (otherwise the keys on a G15 for example will press 1-6, F1-F6, etc). IS will detect the button with or without clearing. You can bind to each button in either software, or even both (not recommended). I helped a few people before that run the profiler just for the thumb stick on their G13.

The other thing is that if you're running Vista or Windows 7, you will need to run the profiler as administrator (or have UAC disabled).

    Thanks for the clarification, Lax.

I always ran my G13 with a generic profile, independant of applications/games, so I'm safe on the automatic profile front. I will have to stay clear of the MR key, though, as it has the same function as on the G11 and G15. I hardly ever use M keys at all anyway, I have one profile only, and change actions in game with modifier-paged action bars.

Anyway, back to the point. I disabled all bindings on G-keys, left the thumb stick bound to it usual direction keys with Logitech Profiler running, and everything works fine.

    Great feature !
