    Default Slow Vs Keyclone

I'm hoping someone can help - I've installed IS and ISBoxer but noticed significant performance issues Vs Keyclone (i.e. main window FPS is 9 running 5 wows)

It did ask me to install an earlier version of directX but this hasn't affected Keyclone when I run it as before.

    Specs are:

    Intel Core2Duo
    6Gig Ram
    Geforce 8500GT 512mb
    Windows 7 64bit

Is there some configuration i've missed or am I doomed with IS?

ISBoxer/Innerspace works differently than keyclone. I had a similar issue to yours, there are a few things to remember.
Unlike keyclone, ISBoxer will render the other windows at the same resolution as the main, this is what allows for precise click broadcasting. This will give you a slight performance hit on your system.
Secondly, each character will have a seperate config.wtf file which would allow for custom graphics settings. If your main has graphics set to max then that will be the same for the slaves until you change it. This is what happened to me, essentially I had 5 wow clients running at 1920x1200 at max settings and got around 9-12fps. I then went it and tweaked the settings for the slaves, lowering the graphics to low and turning down shadows. I left view distance at the normal level. This is probably what your issue is. Check the graphic settings for the slaves.

As I was trying to explain in my post, before it got moderated, I had the same experience as you and my problem was that my video settings were all set to maximum. I also have a separate problem, but I am handling that problem myself. So make sure to check your video effects. Weather and shadows x5 can be a lot to handle.

ok i've resized the windows (smaller) and it works fine. Except for the keymaps, whatever they mean This is going to be a loooong night of learning...

Interesting, the main menu screen runs slower than the actual game...

The virtual config files are a huge as far as system performance goes.
I crank everything down to low, on the slaves.
On the main, I like view distance and spell effects up some.
    That really helps.

Everything is rendered at full size, even if its then scaled down for a small window.
Inside of cities like Dalaran, looking at the ground while zoomed in (on the slaves) helps a lot too.

Not sure what you mean by Keymaps.
But if you elaborate, we can help ya.

Ok not as smooth as Keyclone, but as you say ualaa it could be the virtual configs.

I had a strange one just a minute ago, set up general & FTL keymaps for my new team, everything worked like a dream, except couldn't log into Wow, and for some reason the shift button was permanently down when I pressed the number keys 1-9. It only happened to those keys, really really strange. Anyway I started again with ISBoxer and it fixed it.

This is a little different to white/black lists and i'm taking time to get used to it, especially as my follow key was ` (left of 1), this is now the console for IS.

Hey that was some pretty hot shit guide you did there, i'd hate to have gone through without ISBoxer. It was worth all the pain to see instant PiP swaps.

The instant PiP swaps are amazing.
Having come from Keyclone, I had slaves windows large enough to read their text.
So the PiP swap wasn't the feature that sold me.
However having experienced it, the slave windows can be tiny, and its easier to just PiP swap to their window for anything.

The mouse broadcasting was what sold me really.
On my druids, I can broadcast my Treants to land anywhere.
And you can set it to turn on, with a keypress which is the wow spell, and off once you click a target location.

Keymaps are essentially the white list and black list.
If you want a key to pass, make a keymap.
Except that you can pass any action on a keymap, not just the key in a 1:1 relationship.
And if its not a Keymap hotkey, its not passed and therefore already black listed.

Having played with IS Boxer for a few weeks...
    PiP swap is amazing.
    Mouse broadcasting rocks.
Virtualized settings (no Symbolic Links, but all the benefits).
But the Keymaps and what you can do with them, that blows me away.

    *Edit*
I don't know that it will ever run as smooth as Keyclone, in that the windows are all rendered at full size and then scaled to whatever.
That is what makes the mouse broadcasting so strong, and the PiP swaps instant.
The virtual files, can tweak the alts windows somewhat, but ISB with five windows and all settings off/down, won't be as smooth as Keyclone with the same settings.

There was a post a while back, where Lax showed someone how to change the config for the tilde key.
    So it is doable.

To disable or change the console binding:
    1. Right click IS icon in system tray, select Configuration
    2. Click "Startup" underneath "Session" in the upper right corner
    3. In the list that comes up on the left, click "Console"
    4. If you want to just disable the Console binding, click Remove and then Apply, and you're done (next time you launch instances they will not have this binding)
    -- or
    4. To change the Console binding, see the command on the right hand side. It says "bind console ` console toggle" (note: for keyboards that do not have a ` key, this will be F12 instead). You can change it to, for example, alt+`. If you're trying to get creative with the binding, the names for all the keys are the same as listed in ISBoxer in any Hotkey Picker window. If it has a space, put quotes (") around the entire combination, e.g.: bind console "num lock" console toggle.

Omigosh that was drivng me crazy! I did the same thing, set ` as the key for interact with target, just because it's the one key WoW doesn't seem to already be using for anything. Had to change it to Ctrl + ` to avoid the IS console popping up, but now I can change it back! Thanks! That being a key I use alot in combat, it's much better to just be able to push one key quickly instead of a combo.

    I use Alt + Ctrl + I.
And have a keymap which is triggered by G1 (G15 keyboard) which outputs that.
