Thanks but you don't need You mother me. Your assumptions are wrong, I'm actually very excited about 3.3 for my own reasons. I only said that t9 grind is pointless.

I always get a little laugh when I see the take of "serious" players in the game. Everyone's view of serious is different. Some would say that all serious boxers would have completed heroics prior to 3.1 when they became outgeared to them. Others would say serious boxers have arena titles. People would compare achievements and see if you got your Glory of the Hero when it was exceptionally hard or when you killed raid bosses 10 man and 25 man. Still others would then see if you're truly multiclassing a mixed team and claim that running multiple shamans or running all dps in a raid isn't "serious" multiboxing.

Doesn't really matter in the long run. The game has plenty of options to keep motivation and things to do. It's not always about the BiS gear or whatever the latest "endgame" is. There's plenty of content around. It's still a game and not a resume. I play for fun and challenge - and if you can't find either atm, then a break would probably suit you best.

Either way, all this talk of gearscore and seriousness gives an air of talking down ones nose and an air of elitism. Not sure if that's intended.

I recommend everyone cancel their accounts until the expansion. Refocus on the grind once you hit 85. If you are still leveling toons up I guess you can keep playing. I have 15 characters and have no desire for more so its time to sit out and save some cash.

Well, if you arent having fun any more, sure, cancel accounts and wait for cataclysm. I however am still having a blast, and need to keep gearing up to remain competitive in PvP, and I want to be able to experience the raid content, so getting full T9 through heroics is a necessary step towards my goals. I have a singleboxing friend (my arena healer) and we're gonna blast our way through heroics, on 2 teams, and get as geared as possible.

Even when the gear resets, its always easier to have full epic gear, because all the new content will be designed for a lvl 78 in greens to be able to accomplish, solo. Also, It's not like the expansion is coming out anytime soon, so theres still plenty of life left in all current gear.

Im going to stop running ToC PuG raids I think, it's pretty frustrating right now with a bunch of bad players. Used to be no problem clearing to Anub and then a 50/50 shot of finishing him too, now its amazing if we beat northrend beasts. I think I will refocus on my pvp group (dk and 4 rets) or level that 5th shaman to 80 so I can go pewpew in BGs.

We'll want different stats on gear.
Tanks will not need any defense, they'll be crit capped from talents alone.

I'd imagine a lot of the WotLK gear won't be itemized terribly well for changes in Cataclysm.
Still it should be decent gear, until you acquire better Cataclysm gear.
One of the reported changes coming with Cataslysm is allowing professions to rearrange the stats on gear.
For example, Tailors will be able to replace +Int on and item with +Spirit

FWIW, replace some int with spirit if spirit isn't on the item was what he said. They dont want you to find a of the whale plate item and replace the spirit with stamina to make a of stamina x2
