I know niley trashed all of the heroics in his sunwell gear so I wouldn't say it was completely useless, many of us who had sunwell stuff continued to wear it into naxxramas( some of it ). Frankly if the difficulty or the amount of content doesnt increase in cata I see no reason to reactivate at all, I'll be waiting to buy cata until I hear some first hand accounts of the situation though. This game is no longer an rpg, its an action adventure console game with a large communication system ... MMOAV if you will.

Until then, I'll be playing EQ as it has enough depth and challenge in its pve content to keep me interested. The only challenge to WoW is pvp, but any person on person competition will always be challenging, regardless of game so if i want that I'll find a more balanced game for it( it wont be an mmo ).
I never really understood the reason of generic challenge as a reason to multibox WoW. I mean, if challenge is what's appealing, why not just get a single player game you can play on insanely-difficult mode and save a lot of time and money?

I multibox WoW in part because I like the game, in part because I like that it's sort of a community and a living world that responds to the action of players. I multibox because it allows me to sidestep a lot of the downsides of WoW (PUG's, waiting time etc.) and still maintain some sort of social tie to the people I know in-game. I also enjoy the configuration and setting up - macros, HKN scripts, adapting my chars, trying out different combinations.

If PvE progress was the only reason I played WoW I think I'd just activate my accounts for one month at the time when new content is released, deactivate after and play something else while waiting for more content.

As much as the game is a grind.

    I love it.

New gear excites me, but not as much as watching bosses melt, even if it's stuff I've done over and over. I just smile and laugh at what I can survive since I'm mostly over geared for heroics. To each his / her own IMO.
