Niley, if we should think that way, and putting ur statement on the tip of the iceberg, we migh as well say nothing in wotlk or even before that is usefull...

I agree, when it's this easy, it can seem what u do is without meaning, but I find it fun anyway.

My point beeing, farming emblems of heroism in the start was a waste, because you knew sooner or later you would replace it - I still did it, because i find it fun.

I already have full t9/9.5 on all of my shamans, short of doing the 5 man quest (once ICC is released)I really cant see a reason to keep them active any longer( Also full relentless... well if i reactivate and buy the legs ). I know niley trashed all of the heroics in his sunwell gear so I wouldn't say it was completely useless, many of us who had sunwell stuff continued to wear it into naxxramas( some of it ). Frankly if the difficulty or the amount of content doesnt increase in cata I see no reason to reactivate at all, I'll be waiting to buy cata until I hear some first hand accounts of the situation though. This game is no longer an rpg, its an action adventure console game with a large communication system ... MMOAV if you will.

Until then, I'll be playing EQ as it has enough depth and challenge in its pve content to keep me interested. The only challenge to WoW is pvp, but any person on person competition will always be challenging, regardless of game so if i want that I'll find a more balanced game for it( it wont be an mmo ).

I never really understood the reason of generic challenge as a reason to multibox WoW. I mean, if challenge is what's appealing, why not just get a single player game you can play on insanely-difficult mode and save a lot of time and money?

I multibox WoW in part because I like the game, in part because I like that it's sort of a community and a living world that responds to the action of players. I multibox because it allows me to sidestep a lot of the downsides of WoW (PUG's, waiting time etc.) and still maintain some sort of social tie to the people I know in-game. I also enjoy the configuration and setting up - macros, HKN scripts, adapting my chars, trying out different combinations.

If PvE progress was the only reason I played WoW I think I'd just activate my accounts for one month at the time when new content is released, deactivate after and play something else while waiting for more content.

As much as the game is a grind.

    I love it.

New gear excites me, but not as much as watching bosses melt, even if it's stuff I've done over and over. I just smile and laugh at what I can survive since I'm mostly over geared for heroics. To each his / her own IMO.

    A little off topic here.
I used to single box raid, so i can be better at multiboxing, that was my goal for years. I've got into us top guild, so i could learn more, get a better grip on my abilities....so once more i can multibox better, this is main reason why I dps'ed on my shaman as my main, and my so called main alt was always my paladin tank.
It has been like that for almost 3 years, until recently....there is nothing left to box on live servers(for me)
I haven't boxed on live for a long time now, Ive been single box raiding on my warlock, shaman and paladin, but i realized my goal was not multiboxing anymore.
In the beggining of wotlk, we had many challenges ahead of us, multiboxing or not, they were there. Boxing brand new heroics was tons of fun, going there with a tank that had 18k hp and not even def capped, shamans with 14k hp and under 1k spl damage.....those are some fond memories for me.
Upgrading gear back then made huge difference in doing those instances, but now its a bit different, if Your toons have all heroic gear, You will be able to do last few 5 mans of wotlk(3.3), it might take a bit more learning and getting used to your teams, but you will be able to do it.
I was hoping that it would be more of a challenge, but no i can do it all in my gear that I transferred my toons to the ptr with, no one has more than 2 pieces of 232 t9 there, on live i have 3 toons with full t9, mostly 245.
For leveling this wont make a difference at all, same for doing new 5 mans.........basically tldr there is nothing left to gear up for, unless they announce another filler patch.

What you fail to realize, not all of us are in top guilds that can gear out all 5 of our toons in 245 gear. You're the extreme minority here. There's nothing left on live for you, grats you win the game. There's TONS of stuff on live for the rest of us.

what you don't realize is what i wrote above, my toons on the ptr don't have that gear, and yet i was able to clear all new 5 mans.
245+ gear is used for raiding, and it isn't required for what most boxers do(ie 5 mans)
Also I got all my 245 gear in this past month, i havent been boxing in that time at all, just to show you the difference, my toons on the ptr GS is between 4435 to 4700. On live i have 3 toons above 5200, and 2 struggles with 4600ish.
I don't know what you mean by tons of stuff, maybe pvp, because few instances that were not completed by few don't count to me as "tons"(most serious boxers have done all heroics by now)

I really hope I never become a "serious" multiboxer, doesn't sound like much fun.

I'm excited about the badge changes, personally. I'm a bit of an achievement whore, so I've not spent any time really gearing up my toons, other than stuff I've received from PvP.

I'm working on the no-rating arena set for Feral Druids to act as a base set of five pieces for just starting heroics. I know it's not ideal, but they're pretty good pieces of gear for a bear tank, or so I heard, at least to get you started. I want to start doing heroics and such.

Sadly, I'm still working on that pesky 100 mount achievement. Once I get that, however, I think my time will mainly be spent between leveling up other teams for fun and gearing up an awesome PvE team.

Obviously you are looking for confirmation so you can move on. I'll go ahead and be mother Hen, Go ahead its okay, you can move on. If you are not interested in achievements, pvp, or raiding then its time to take a break. I find WOW to be more than just the game mechanics but if that's all that interests you and you have completed what you are interested in then there is no point playing. If you aren't having fun then move on.

Perhaps after a break a new spark will develop and you can begin your adventures in WOW once again.
