Default Unable to enter Alterac Valley

My five-arcane-mages team finished Borean Tundra, the Fjord, and Dragonblight, getting them half way through 75 (they got into Northrend at level 68). I want to PVP with them, so I thought I would level running Alterac Valley (also saving many zones untouched, usefull for epic flyier money and such).

The problem is I cannot get into Alterac Valley !

My group stays queued forever and never gets in (up to a 2.5 hours questing session). A single character doesn't get in neither. The game interface tells me that average waiting time is at most few minutes. I can get in Arathi Bassin and Warsong with single characters and full groups.

I never had that problem with the other team I PVPed with (druid + 4 x hunters), but they were already level 80 when I started.

    Am I missing something ?

I am having the same problem, just in the 50-59 and 60-69 bracket for AV.

Since the last patch AV is no longer 70-80, it is now 70-79 and 80 only. This absolutely KILLED the 70-79 bracket on my battlegroup.

Anyone else see the irony in a guy named genocyde making a post about an entire anything being wiped out :P

Okay serious note, AV has not been popping for me at 80 either, it seems to have been abandoned since the games went to stalemate resource wins after all the people leveling (read: non AFK players) left.

    Oh well off to EoTs...

Ok, that's what I missed. Thanks for the info, even though I am quite sorry to hear that. That certainly compromises my BG-levelling plans.

Edit : Could experienced BG-PVPers indicate a possible second best choice in terms of levelling ?

Not completely sure how much experience you get for each but AB and EoTs are typically fairly fast games now that they lowered the resources to win. A boxing group in either of those can help quite a bit, so you might want to check them out. WSG still seems terribly slow to me, I don't run SoTA because it's a pain starting split across the boats. And I believe IoC is 80 only.

Whichever is the "holiday" BG usually has more people in it. I would go EotS, and AB. I just queue for AV and something else, and sometimes get lucky, and AV is ready right when EotS finishes. Also, make sure you do WG whenever its up, good honor there, im already 80 so i get gold, but the quests should get some decent exp.

They also recently changed BG's so they won't start until each side has a full queue.

That is not to say there will be a full starting complement in each, by the time the game starts.
But no one will get the button to enter the BG, until there are enough for both sides to receive it at once.
People will still queue for two BG's and take one and ignore the other.
Or leave a BG in progress or before it has started.

You can still have an arena member queue you for a skirmish.
To get you out of a BG you don't want to be in, without getting deserter.

Laffs at all of you :P Been getting 7 minute queues for most of the day for AV from 70. I usually don't requeue straight away so I can get some questing done inbetween games. Don't get me wrong, if it's 3-4am, then you're expecting maybe 1-1.5 hour wait, but then questing is just faster because no ones around

Just a little update as my all-Mage team is about to ding 80.

I had the team constantly on queue for AV during these 5 levels of gaming. I have been playing at about every possible time, morning, afternoon, mostly early evening, some late night, week days, week-end ... Sometimes short sessions, sometimes up to 4 or 5 hours straight. Well ...

I didn't get into Alterac at all, NOT A SINGLE TIME !

So much for battleground levelling, not going to happen on my server.
