    Default [ISBoxer] Random Continuous Running

So this is kind of strange one and im not sure whats triggering it; im also posting from work so I cant give the config at this time.

My guys will sometimes run off and keep running. Follow will work, and then they will run right past me and keep going & going. I can shift over to their windows and press a key and that still will not break the movement. I have been able to stop the movement only pressing alt + tab within the window. When I alt tab inside the wow window it stops them from the continuous running.

Other ISB users can chime in to correct me if they think they found the cause linked to the software, but I'm not sure this is a multiboxer software issue (per se). I've seen the same problem using Keyclone.

I found that they sometimes (rare) get stuck using a particular button like it is being held down, which in this case is likely the "W" key or whatever you use for forward movement. Tapping that key quickly will usually fix the issue for me. This usually only affects one toon out of the 4 slaves at a time.

Follow will make the toon instantly turn towards you, but will instantly break again because it still doesn't think the forward key has been let go yet. I haven't been able to replicate the issue intentionally, so I don't know the particulars of what makes it happen.

Does that seem to be the same issue, or does tapping the forward key have no effect either?

IWT - Interact With Target will also cause this.
If you are spamming the key, and your opponent dies, the slaves frequently run off, unless you quickly press Follow or give them another target.

I've seen Taliesin's observation too, but its been a while for that.
I generally strobe follow via ISB.

I can go and mash buttons like a madman, not sure if I have specifically pressed W or forward, but i know i have pressed back left right.

When I make them follow they turn towards me and keep running to me they say hello and keep on trucking lol. I am using IWT but I'm not sure if it happens just as something dies.

I'm pretty sure this is a wow error.
People had the same with Keyclone at one point.

You could try the repair tool in the wow folder.
Not sure if that would fix anything or not.
If you do, set it to not reset your interface/addons.

Modifiers and movement keys have a couple things happen that will cause runaway toons.

Modifiers are responded in WoW on press, movement keys are responded to on press, everything else is done on key release.
If you press a mod down your key broadcasting software sends keydown to wow then you press whatever, your broadcasting software will send keydown or keydown+keyup quickly and the modifier is still registered as keydown if you happen to stop broadcasting or the window you pressed the key on loses focus or even WoW lags a bit, it will never receive the keyup command from the broadcasting software.

Movement keys will do the same thing...

This behavior will result in the key registering as pressed down until you either hit it again to have the keyup sent or somehow tell your broadcasting software to refocus the window and send keyup.

I know you could make your chars orbit the main (ab)using this behavior by doing the following quickly:

Hold down strafe left or right for the alts
    Disable keybroadcasting
    release the strafe key
    enable broadcasting
    hit your follow main macro

Now your alts will continuously run circles around your main until you hit the original strafe key again.

I guess the thing you need to look at is what movement key or modifier are you pressing shortly before this happens and what is the status of your broadcasting software at the time. Think about things like pressing up to run forward then PiP switching before you release the key type scenarios.

The only "runaway toon" issue I've experienced is a bug with melee combat and autofollow. If you time it just right, autofollow will break but the autorun appears to stay on. I haven't seen it happen in a long time though, so they might have fixed it. Either way, sounds weird that pressing alt+tab within that window would stop the movement.

There's a huge thread on this as it is a common if intermittent problem. People have seen it with every multiboxing software app and even hardware setups that don't even USE software.
