Default keyboard hand placement help needed

ok I know how to use isboxer/innerspace to broadcast to my other wow instances, that is not the problem, it is my hand placement on my keyboard and gamepad and mouse that is the problem.

I am right-handed and a clicker (trying to use keybinds), so I have to use my right-hand for the mouse.

I have a G11 keyboard and ideazon fang, so I have plenty of buttons for macros and what not.

my question is this, what would "you" do in my situation with my team to make tanking, healing, and dps at the same more comfortable? my team is

    warrior - 3x shamans

I have dps and healing spells on the G keys, and use my mouse to click on my warriors actionbar. But if I need to move, for example, to avoid a aoe or what not, I can not heal myself because my left hand is now using my movement keys and off the G keys.

I tried to do the nexus and died on the first trash lol. I know i can make my macros better by combining a dps macro with a healing macro for another character. But I am still plagued by hand placement issues and just can not adjust properly.

I did not see this issue in the wiki, just thought i would get the majority of peoples opinion and then try what is suggessted.

    Thanks

    Okay. Start over.
1st. Dont click. Clicking is inacurate and terrible.
2'nd. Spell cycle macros are your friends. Realize that if you macro all your abilities to Key "1" for all your dpsing, then you only need to mash one key. Sense your doing all shaman dps I would do it like this. I would remove your mouse compleatly. Use the Number pad for your clones DPS. You can put key 9 on a round robin for your stormstrike. 1 is lightning bolt, 2 chain lightning, and so on, make all of these skills "DPS CLONE" section of your keybored
3'rd. Useing the G keys is a good idea for heals, but realize unless your shaman is resto spec'd, you have no instant heals, and there for can not heal whale moving out of an AoE. In boxing you must anticipate your heals, just because your at 10% and see that you need a heal, and at that point stop moving your tank, you have to wait another 1-1.5 sec's before your clone even stops moving to start that heal, so your problem might be you shouldnt be having your DPS'ers that are casting following you when your hitting something, they should be no longer following at max range, in my opinion. Useing a "Spread out macro" (a key binding were when hit once makes all your charicters stop moving and sets the in formation) is the best way to do this.
4'th. Your hands will move, Find a comfertable spot, a place were your hands enjoy being, and then screw it all over, because they next pull you will be moving them.
    5'th DONT FORGET ABOUT MODIFIERS!
this is by far the most inportant. Shift, Alt, Cntrl, Cntrl+alt, Shift+Alt, Cntrl+shift. All of these are modifiers you can use into your macros or for more abilities in its self! If you run out of buttins in a designated area of your keybored (i have finger nail polish lines down my keybored, as each section represents a different set of abilities, such as clone healer, clone dps, my dps, my heals, PVE interaction abilities, and PVP sections) and I run out of shit to hit, so I use the modifiers, It makes your life a lot easyer.

    Hope this helped.

If you're clicking, giving yourself an assload more keys to press is not doing yourself any favors. I use a mouse and keyboard and that's it. Matter of fact, my "main" keys are :

    w, s = tank movement
1 = Tank pull macro {Avenger's Shield, Divine Plea, Sacred Shield on Mod} and SS on my Ret
2 = DPS and tanking cast sequence. Heals via mouseover region, riptide & purge {or Lightning bolt} outside the mouseover region.
    3 = Proc spell {instant Lightning bolt/Exorcism/kill shot/Hammer of Wrath}
r = remove poison, curse, disease, magic
    CTRL = main modifier
Tab = interact with target/tracking macro
    mouse4 = target nearest enemy
home = recall totems, follow, buffs

Of course there's tons more that I use all the time, but those are the ones that I'm wearing the paint off of.

Start small, build from there. First thing you have to do is break the clicking habit. Then learn to combine actions via macros and good button placement.

    thanks for the help

I have to break the clicking habit, but it is difficult for me. I can condese my macros and combine dps and heal macros together in isboxer.

I do use a formation macro and what not so that the slaves are usually out of cleaves or other spells like that.

I think i am just a little worried that if I combine lets say, a warrior ability, with a shaman lightning bolt and keep spamming that button that I will get banned or cause more lag for myself lol. ridiculous I know, but I played a long time on my main account and do not want it to get banned over something stupid like pushing a key too many times and getting the "you can not do this yet" error.

i'll check out some of the macro threads and see what I can do to help myself out.

    thanks again

    I'd suggest...

    Right hand on the mouse.
Which gives you mouse look, target selection (click or target=mouseover).
Movement in game, minus strafe which needs keyboard help.

    Left hand on the keyboard.
    Left side of the keyboard.
Index finger on F, pinky finger on A (home row, for typing).
Utilize keybinds as much as possible.

Your best keys will be (and some are movement options too).
    1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
    Q, W, E, R, T
    A, S, D, F, G
    Z, X, C, V.

You can reach Left Alt with your thumb quite easily.
Your pinky can reach Left Shift or Left Control, whichever is easier (or both).

    That's a lot of keybinds.

Take your most used spell or ability.
And add it to the keybind.
Then use the keybind only for that spell and don't click it.

After an hour or however long you need, add another key.
Until all your spells/abilities are keybinds and the mouse is only facing/movement/selection.

To force yourself to be using Keybinds you can turn off your UI (as if you were taking a screen shot).
And run around in say a battleground for a few hours or whatever.

cool thanks for all the tips

still trying to wrap my head around everything, mainly which macros should be included together. for example when I am tanking, i am hitting my tank keybinds, do I put lighting bolt with devastate? or do I put lightning bolt with shield slam? sldo, how would I handle the healing? That is the problem I am having now.

I will do some more digging around the board and check elitist jerks and tankspot for rotations and try some things

    1. Was a clicker for 3 years, never saw the prob, i tried for hours to try to get myself to go to it, by doing BGs and stuff ONLY allowing myself to push buttons, i saw it kinda helped, but when i got desperate almost dieing and stuff i would start clicking...
    2. I started to multibox, instant never clicked.. i dunno right when i started it was easy. I guess because it was all new.
    3. My advise to you is to just go a day without clicking maybe unplugg ur mouse lol? ull see the benifits maybe not at the start but after it gets going..

You're not going to get banned for spamming buttons. That has never been the case. If it had, druids and rogues would be having seizures on the boards every day about being banned for trying to build combo points on a laggy day.

Most people do not put one single spell on one key. They use macros to combine common sequences together. Look up castsequences and click sequences.
