    Default Windows 7 and keyclone

Just switched to windows 7. This really isn't a keyclone problem, but a windows 7 problem that perhaps someone has a work around for.

My only issue thus far is that when running maximizer with multiple screens, any time a window alerts it pulls up the task bar which was hidden. With Vista and previous OS's, it was possible to uncheck "always on top" for the task bar. They have removed this option. My searches so far have only found people bemoaning this decision.

This is a bit of a problem for my 4th character who is in a small window and the taskbar hides his entire hotbar. It's also just annoying that the taskbar floats up and down each time I mouse over a different window. Any way to just bury it below the other windows or get it back to old vista behavior?

I have the same problem, and an IDea just occured to me, I'll try it out tonight.

But in Keyclone, Can't we put an Always on top for each instance? That "Might" stop the task bar from popping up and down on us.

If not, I'm not sure, as it is pretty annoying at times.

do you have to have the task bar showing? can you use WoW no window mode?

I found a lame workaround to disable taskbar always on top.

First set taskbar to autohide. Start Task Manager, kill explorer.exe, taskbar will then disappear and no longer occupy space.

I'm using WoW in windowed mode because I have 4 windows tiled to exactly fill the monitor.

    A few work arounds:
    1. Sam's workaround above - ugly, suppose it could work.
    2. Play with 2 monitors and put all the wow windows on the monitor without a taskbar.
    3. Exactly tile the windows to meet the taskbar (turn off autohide) so that the taskbar is always visible and doesn't share space with the windows.

This is really a flaw with the new version of windows. The OS shouldn't presume to have something more important than the programs running on it.

So I'm giving this a shot:

CTRL+ALT+T to change pull up a screen to turn the taskbar on and off.

It works nicely, here's to hoping that it isn't also a trojan.

My workaround to this was to just move the taskbar to the left side of the screen instead of the bottom. The taskbar still pops up occasionally, but I can still see and click on the hotbars on the bottom of the screen.

Just to revisit this. Taskbar Eliminator has worked great. It's a very minimal app. ALT + T toggles the taskbar, very easy to use, no drawbacks that I've seen so far.
