Follow strobing won't turn off until your slaves are in combat. If you break movement before engaging in combat, your slaves are only going to start following again because they aren't in combat yet. Or if they drop combat again, they will start following, even if combat isn't actually over.
Use the follow strobe off command in your break movement key {/jamba-follow strobeoff <tag>} or avoid using follow strobing at all when you are going to be repeatedly going into combat. I usually don't use follow strobing for anything but mounted travel.
