Thread: HID controller

  1. #1

    Default HID controller

    Hey All,

I have tried searching for this but no luck. Check out Controllermate. Is there something like this for the PC?

    Check this out http://www.orderedbytes.com/controllermate/

I would love to add more functionality to my n52te. More specifically being able to do keystokes with the n52te. The n52te cannot do things like alt+numpad(1). So I am looking for a HID controller.

    Thanks!!!

I find it hard to belive that the n52 is not a hid controller:

Hid is part of the operating system go look under device management and see if the n52 is under HID devices.

If what you say is true get the saitech game commander pro (or whatever the newer version is called). you can do alts etc. with it.

HID = Human Interface Device = any device that lets a human and a computer interact. For device manager, a HID is just something that says "hey, I'm a HID!" when it registers itself.

"I'm looking for a HID controller" = "I'm looking for a controller controller" = not very helpful.

The n52te can do alt-numpad1. Just record the keystroke. Not sure what other functionality you are looking for.

I don't know for sure about the N52te, but I have been using the N52 for years, and I am sure it could do that. It would be quite surprising if the N52te could not.

I have tried this already and is the reason I posted this. I used the macro recorder to create keystokes. Oddly they did not work. I ran the editor as administrator and still no luck. Oh well.

Did you look at the link I put in my post? Controllermate is a piece of software that manages HID's. I was just asking if anyone knew about a PC version or if theere was en equivalent.

The configuration for things like ctrl+numpad 1 is a bit cluncky on the n52te, this is what I did to make it work with HKN which detects keys on the press event...except modifiers and movement keys.

    Open the macro editor.
    Check Ignore delays between events
    Hit record
    Press and hold Ctrl
    Press and release Num1
    Release Ctrl
    Stop recording
Highlight Release Num1 (the release is fired atomatically in HKN unless you define it as a movement key, in which case you would leave this step and not delete it)
    Click Delete
Click SaveAs and follow prompts to save
Right click the position you want to bind the macro to
Select the macro name from the drop down menu
    Save the Profile
Unplug and replug in the n52te USB cord
    Open WoW and enjoy

I always had the problem of it not working for me until I unplugged it and plugged it back in.

I hope that helps, too bad the new software is so far behind the old software for the n52.

I looked, it was a bunch of marketing crap without a lot of useful detail, I went over my "trying to figure out what this guy wants when he can't post in clear English" threshold.

FYI it shows your username to the left of your post, so it's completely unnecessary to type it again.
