1 BNET or 5 BNET Accounts?

I'm pretty much going to obviously be forced like everyone else to do this before Wednesday so what should I do?

Right now I DONT (yes I know) have an Authenticator. I really want to have my log in just as easy as I do now, which from what I've been reading is not going to happen.

So what are the differences from using 1 or 5 BNET accounts and if I am using keyclone I remember reading some problem about it? Someone point that out to me?

The problem with keyclone is that there is a field for a battlenet account id that is inactive. The workaround is to include your battlenet un in the account name field (not sure if that is the correct field name - whatever teh field is that you have your current account names in).

If you have all your wow accounts linked to one bnet account, you will be given a drop-down menu after successfully logging in with your bnet account info. You just need to choose which account you want to access. It's one extra step in the login process.

If you have 5 bnet accounts, I imagine you could set up keyclone and your login process the same as you have it now. I'm not sure if the drop down still appears with only one wow account linked.

Just my 2copper. 5 WOWs, Starcraft 1, Diablo II and you are pretty much full (only 8 accounts per B.Net). With SC2 and Diablo III coming, it seems like confusing to put too many things on one account, so I got 5 B.Net accounts. That way if I box Diablo III (if you can), then I have room to grow. If I want to have a second SC2 (not sure why) account, I can.

Other things mentioned. Game pets (from promotions) are B.Net account wide, so one B.Net account would be good, but bought pets are only WOW wide, so you would need 5 bought pets, no matter what your B.Net account situation is. Authenticators only work for 1 B.Net account login at the moment. You can use the same physical authenticators on multiple WOWs, but you have to push the generate button 5 times. The upside, is you can use the same number, (saying again, same number) on seperate B.Net logins (if you have 5 B.Net accounts I mean). So 5 B.Net accounts lets you broadcast the number, buf if you use 1 B.Net account, you have to push the button (on authenticator) 5 times, which takes a while and is annoying.

I personally want a authenticator or system that detects which computer I am using, not make me type in a number. That way if some other person half way around the world tries to use my login, guess what, you can't, since it isn't from my computer.

I have 5 accounts in 1 b.net account.

Clicking the authenticator 5 times isn't as annoying as I first thought it was. Sure it takes a little longer... but I'm already used to it.

The chance that you can use 1 authenticator on 5 different b.net accounts and can log in with the same code is very low I reckon. I don't know if anyone has tried this already but it would be just as bad as allowing people to log in with 1 code on 1 b.net account, so I don't see any reason why blizzard would allow one but not the other.

Sorry, it is already been done with 1 physical auth, 1 push, 5 seperate B.Net accounts login.

With Keyclone, you can enter your B.Net account name in the place of the wow account name.
It will remember the last account which you used to log in with.

If you're running multiple wow accounts from symbolic linked folders or just have one folder per wow, and a wow.exe pointing to each folder, your log in won't change. However, if you're running one wow folder, you'll need to use the drop down arrows to select which account you want from those on your B.Net account.

The work about, is one B.Net account per one WoW account. If you use an authenticator, this is also the only way you'll get into the game with a single code generation.



IS Boxer has virtual config files, which means you won't need to use the drop down box to select accounts after the first time you've picked them. From then on, it will remember the correct selections, and these are saved on a per character basis.

Again, 5 B.Net accounts with one wow account on each, is your only work around, to log into the game with a single authenticator code.




If you don't have an authenticator, then I'd recommend either IS Boxer or Symbolic Links for software boxing without virtual config files. Still, I'd go with 5 B.Net accounts, and add an authenticator at the earliest opportunity. Ask anyone who has had their account hacked, if $6 would have been worthwhile for an authenticator.

Currently, I can log into my 5 wow accounts, via 5 B.Net accounts, with a single authenticator code.

I too don't think this will last, but I have 5 authenticators now, which will be much faster to log into the game, then having all the accounts on a single B.Net.

Of course, I lose out on all the nice features, such as drop down arrows in account management to switch between accounts.
