InnerSpace has both Keymaps and Repeater options.

With Repeater, anything typed is passed to all clients.
Same thing with the mouse, any mouse movement, click, both buttons held etc.

Keymaps supercede Repeater options.
So if you have a Keymap which does something on the letter h.
Then typing "hello" will come up as "ello".

Basically when you want to type, disable Keymaps.
And if you want all windows to type the same turn Repeater on (example passwords).

If you open ISBoxer Toolkit.
In the top, if you click on Keymaps > Control.
Then on the bottom left you have Activate Maps.
And you'll also have Repeater.
Note the hotkeys for these.
Activate Maps = Keymaps
Repeater = Repeater.

If you click on General under Keymaps (on the top).
Then on the left, you'll notice you have a Keymap for "Others Jump"
Left clicking on it, and looking to the right we have a hotkey of Control Space.
Clicking the + sign to expand the Keymap, we can see it has one step.
Click on the 1, under Steps, and then look to the right.
Now we have the actions that take place on Step 1.
The Target is All Without Current Window.
And the action is Space.

So with this Keymap, Control Space causes our Alts to jump.
It doesn't matter which character is hot/active, the other characters get Space when our hot character presses Control + Space.
Space is not a Keymap, so pressing this does nothing to the other characters, unless Repeater is On.

A one step keymap does the same thing every time.
You can have multiple actions on Step 1, but every time it is pushed, it does whatever is specified on Step 1.

If on the top, you click on Keymaps >> FTL DPS Keys.
And then on the left click on DPS 1.
The hotkey to activate this is 1.
Note there is a single step, which means the same thing will happen each time we push it.
Clicking the 1, under Steps... we see there are two Actions.
The first is FTL Assist. It is actually running another Keymap.
The target of the Keymap is the Current Window. It is in the General Keymaps and the Map itself is the FTL Assist Me, which has all of the other toons assist the main/active/hot toon.
The second action is to send 1 to all windows.

Going back to the Control Keymaps (Keymaps >> Control on the top).
On the left, click on Activate Keymaps.
Note the hotkey to activate your keymaps.
Note there are two steps for this Keymap.
If you click on Step 1, you'll notice there are multiple actions on this step.
If you click on Step 2, there are also multiple actions on this step.
Two steps means it will do one thing (or set of things) on the first press, and something different on the second press.
The First press activates General and FTL Keymaps.
The Second press deactivates them.

If you look at the various Keymaps, you get a better idea of the system.
By viewing what the wizard gives you, you get a strong idea of what is possible.
You can also post... I want to do abc, how would I do this, and get a decent reply usually.

The important part of the configuration is turning Keymaps and Repeating on and off.
Once you can do that, the rest is fairly simple as far as playing.
Observe what happens when you do whatever....
For example the Shift + Alt + D... Dance with my Target Keymap.
Or the "Others Jump" Keymap.

If you want the slaves/alts to be able to move on the Arrow Keys (Up, Down, Left and Right), but for the main to not move on those keys, you can adapt the Others Jump very easily, by creating a Keymap which has the desired trigger (arrow key) and only has the other windows as the target.

Copying the wizard and making small changes is how you learn.

The only thing you don't want to change is the Use FTL Modifiers on the same page as the Hotkey for a Keymap.
Basically 3 Keymaps use these functions, and if you need them in a Keymap, one of the actions can be to use the existing Keymap, much like the FTL DPS keys already do.
