Thread: Alliance AV Fun

    Default Alliance AV Fun

    Well!

My latest adventures with the A-Team have brought me into Alterac Valley, as I'm farming PvP mounts on Arlassa and had to spend some time getting AV tokens. Now, I dont' box the other BGs, but I do box AV.

Rolling with five shamans in AV is always a blast. After focusing on getting the [Alterac Valley All Star] achievement for capping a tower, defending a tower, capping a graveyard, defending the graveyard, and getting an HK in the Field of Strife, I basically ran a circuit to annoy the horde >:P

I'd go up, cap SFGY (Only if no one else didn't already head up), then I'd go blow up IBGY and cap that. The fun part is after that, I'll go back and recap bunkers. I'll poke around and look for a healer on my way towards the bunker and get ready with an insta-jib Flame Shock and Lava Burst volley. The bunkers are a bit annoying with LoSing players, but I can usually burn them down.

People tend to follow a pack of shamans around, too, so more often than not, I have my own healer and a few others to help out.

I had a blast. Anyway, just thought I'd share 2/5 mounts done, plus the AV token only mount. Going to arena-lose my mage and druid teams today, and then it's back to WSG and AB for the rest of the week to get 30 more of each tokens to get mount #3.

    Anyway, happy monday!

I like to read (or watch a video) on how others do things.

I agree, the alliance bunkers are much easier to destroy or defend, then the horde towers, purely from their physical layout and the follow mechanics.

I've always helped to slay Galv, and then mix it up. Sometimes pushing on O, sometimes heading back for D on the bridge. Staggered Earthbind totems, so the entire bridge slows a rush is fun, along with round-robin Thunderstorms. I rarely backcap the bunkers or attempt to take towers, but that wins the game too.

I'm in the process of leveling a 5x Druid team. Planning for them to basically live in BG's, but to arena 10 games each week. Not really sure how highly rated they can get, but 1850 weapons would be nice. Still their focus will be BG's for quite some time. They'll be a very fun team, I think, even if a bit different from 5x Shamans (pally subbed out in BG's for the 5th Shaman).

    Happy Monday, too.

I think Druids would be a ton of fun in AV. If anything, just because you can have the surprise attacks of stealthing up in cat form first.

Horde were basically two-tower killing all yesterday, so I was having to mix up the strategy from game to game. Sometimes, I back-capped the middle bunkers, other times, I'd go annoy them up north and distract them long enough to allow Alliance to take out Drek.

If there was another group doing okay at recapping, or if we were really pushing for offense to just burn drek down with a few towers up, I'd rush south and defend the gate entrance/ramp until we entered, dropped either five earth elementals or fire elementals and unleashed hell.

We went tankless for part of the fight once, and I naturally drew aggro. I waited until Drek was down to about the last 10%, or so, and there were only a few alliance left alive, popped 5 Reincarnates, and DPS'd him the rest of the way down. haha.

Sometimes we'd just have some major alliance baddies and turtle it up, or whatnot. i'd say we definitely won a lot more than we lost, but I'm not certain the exact ratio.

I did get my graveyard assault, tower defend, and loyal defender achievements at like 30/50 range, though. Should maybe have those finished up next weekend, when I do AV again.

    Happy Monday to you, too.

Yeah, AV is a lot of fun for us. One of my favorite things is to start right off by going in Tower Point (i'm horde) and just wait for the 2-3 alliance that come to cap it. You can almost see the "WTF" on their face when they round the corner in that tower and see all those totems and 4x flame shocks.

I always get a little lol about that.
No matter where you go, there you are.
