Thread: Formations

Thanks Ualaa, I will try out what you've posted and see if I can get it to work. My
main problem is the strobe follow, which despite turning it off in game on each guy, it somehow always seems to be back on. Hopefully this will fix the need to drag all my guys around wherever I go in cities, sometimes I just want 3 to sit still but they get lonely fast and insist on following.

Funny thing is, I initially had a hard time making them follow, now they are glued to each other.

If you have the box ticked in the Jamba mod which enables follow after combat then you will have the problem with the toons starting to follow you after you end combat.

Also, a small tip, tick off the button in jamba - "Stop Autofollow while drinking" I think its named Really make life easier when drinking.... to begin with my toons stood up again after I ordered them to drink.

    Open ISBoxer Toolkit.
Click on your character set (at the top).
On the left, click on the 1 or 2 (whatever) under Slots.
To the right you'll have (beneath hotkey to switch to this character)
A check mark for "when I switch to this character".
    Do this mapped key.
Mine is Control Group and Follow/JambaMaster.

This means, when I switch to a toon, that toon becomes the Jamba Master and the other toons begin to follow the new "hot/active" toon.

There are other options on which key to use. But I like normal follow, which can be broken with an arrow key, if I desire.

Click on Keymaps General (at the top)
On the left, right click on mapped keys.
    Select New Mapped Key.
    Call it Down Arrow.
Where it says Hotkey, use the Down Arrow. No modifiers.
Turn "On" - Hold any keystroke actions while hotkey is held.
FTL modifiers should be default (don't want to change this setting anywhere).
    Click the 1, under Steps.
On the right, right click on Actions.
Keystroke Action >>> New Keystroke Action
The Target is.... Window: All without Current.
And the Key Combination is Down Arrow (no modifiers again).

This lets you break follow, with the down arrow key, from any toon and with only the other toons moving backwards.
You can repeat the same for Up Arrow, Left Arrow and Right Arrow.
Which lets you move the slaves independently of the main, or just break follow on any arrow key.

On the top, go to Keymaps General.
On the left, click on the + to expand... Toggle Jamba Follow Strobing.
I have selected the MR key on my G15 keyboard, because it has a light which I can use to visually track strobing, but any key will work fine without a G15.

If you do use a G15/G11 keyboard, you'll need to open the Profiler Software (clear all hotkeys, so its blank - will only need to clear keys once) and then End Task - Control Shift Escape and under Processes click on LGDCore.exe and then End Process. You'll need to do this each time you start ISBoxer, so it can work with a blank G15/G11 profile.

There should be two steps (an on and an off step is more reliable then a simple Toggle).
Click on the 1, on the left under Steps.
Under the Actions, there is PopupText > self.
If you don't have a keyboard with G-keys, I'd edit the Display For upwards from 0.50 seconds to 2.00 seconds, for more visual notification.
Leave the Do Follow/JambaStrobe in Control Key Map -> Self... as it is.
If you are using a G-Keys keyboard, right click on Actions and select New Light Action.
Target is current computer, Light is MR and On is the last option.

Click on Step 2 and we will then do the reverse.
Give yourself a longer PopupText if you lack a G-key keyboard, for more notification.
And add the Light action, this time going Off, if you have the G-Key keyboard.

Now, if you change from one toon to another, and Keymaps are on...
Then the other toons will auto follow the new hot toon.
But if you turn keymaps off, you can change and follow doesn't auto start.
Which is useful for Shoot them out of the sky (Ebon Hold Daily), so your toons don't run off the cliff when you exit the guns.... *smile*.

You can also enable Follow Strobe with a hotkey, and disable it with a second press of the same key.
With either a G-Key lighting up when its on, or a longer notification on the screen.
So when follow is likely to break (I use this with epic flyers, or lots of ground running) strobe is on.

You can also use arrow keys to break follow (if strobe is off).
Or turn strobe off and then use the arrow key to break follow.

You can use your G18 mapped key for toons to move apart for formations.

Finally got a chance to try this out, WORKS GREAT!

    Thanks Ualaa!
