A question for those more experiences with IS.

How can I make formations, and then move the toons as a group in the formation?
I know it cannot be via follow, or that would destroy the formation.

Is it just a mapped key, which sends Forward arrow to every toon?
If that is the case, won't the toons vary slightly in their facing, and drift apart as they travel?
Or would I mouse broadcast, and use double click to move them?
And again, will they retain formation, or gradually split up?
I saw the flying V formation and am curious of that too.

I am at this stage as well, I have not successfully been able to move my formation and keep it intact. My guess would be to broadcast coordinates from the mouse and have those coordinates adjusted for each toon before action takes place. This would be against EULA I think.

I think you could set the formation and then broadcast the movement keys. forward and backwards should work for short moves. if you needed to turn I would. start over with follow, set your direction and do formation again. I think it was Vyndrees video that showed this best.

I use the default setup created by the wizard.
I use jamba strobing by default.

I currently have one formation which has main character at the centre and the other 4 toons fanned out round him - facing inthe same direction.

My favourite spot for this is in Av outside Dreks waiting for the towers to time out. - I face the entrance gate - fan out and drop totems ( 5 shamen) - Makes it look like an army is awaiting anything that comes through the gate.

    Formation looks like

    X----- M----- X
    ----X----- X

It is acheived through 2 keypresses of the same key.

    The first disbales jamba strobing
    The second fans them out.

    Using Isboxer create a keymap
within the keymap set a hotkey - I personally use a G15 keyboard and us G2

    Create 2 steps

Step One ( leave the ftl option and the hold keystroke option as off or default)
Creat a keymap action - Warcaft Macro
    Target is window current
    key combination ( you choose)
    Macro = /jamba-follow strobeoff all

I include a second popup action which says "spreading out" on the current screen <<< Not necessary
Step 2 - Leave FTL as default or off - Set the hold button option to ON

Create 6 keystroke actions ( I am assuming character in slot 1 is the main)
    1) target = slot2, Key to pass is Q
    2) target = slot3, Key to pass is E
    3) target = slot4, Key to pass is Q
    4) target = slot4, Key to pass is S
    5) target = slot5, Key to pass is E
    6) target = slot5, Key to pass is S
Because you have the hold key option turned on for the second step, the longer you hold the key the bigger the Fan will be.
By using the slot instead of character name as the target - the formation can be used for any team.
