Default Druid - Travel Form Question.

I was about to post this in the official wow forum but I don't wanna get flamed

Is there a swift travel form or is the travel form with the 60% increase in speed the "only" speed boost on ground that the druid gets?

I'm considering changing to a better mount for increased speed if theres no further boost to ground speed.

I justed dingen 60 with my group today and bought flying form YIR! awesome.

And we get the 225 riding skill for free. Now thats nice.

    Congrats on 60th!

From slower to faster, on the ground, a druid has:
    --- Other forms/humanoid.
    --- Cat Form (with Talents).
    --- Travel Form.
    --- Original ground mount/Slow Flyer.
    --- Cat Form (Dash).
    --- Epic ground mount/Swift Flyer.

Hopefully my speed ordering is correct; pretty sure it is anyway.

Not sure how fast the flying mounts are on the ground.
They used to be 60% and 100%, but only usable in BC/Wrath.
Eventually with Cataclysm, every zone will be flyable.

    Thanks for the answers!

Ill just get a faster mount then, since I got the 255 riding skill now I should be able to buy a faster mount.

I just loved if I could keep on using the travel form instead of a "normal" mount.

Ohh well, gonna keep questing in Outland. Its epic

I have only been there once with my mage... so im really enjoying the quests and items.

Im not even done in Hellfire Peninsula... at all, maybe 50% complete and im allready lvl 60. Went directly to Outland when I dinged 58 (almost anyway, maybe 20% into 58).

Other then the epic flyer, all of the mounts are much cheaper then previous.
The speed is a huge boost to gameplay, definitely worth while.

Yearh, im gonna go for Epic mounts then. I should have the riding skill anyway since I already got flying form.

Now it pays off that I have been a cheap @ss earlier and saved up some $$$ on my toons.

But it adds up when I can't do dailies at lvl 80 yet.

Im just gonna sell some of the stuff I got in my banks.

An Epic ground mount is highly recommened for the old world, and places like Dalaran where you cannot fly.

A slow flying mount and the cold flying training are recommended so you can fly anywhere.
When in Burning Crusade or Wrath zones, the slow flyer is faster in the air then even an Epic ground mount.

The Epic Flyer is a luxury now.
It is 280% of your ground speed, but the slow flyer is 150%.
When the slow flyer was only 60%, the difference was huge.
Epic flying is something I'm working on for all toons (14 with Cold + Epic so far), but the Slow Flying + Cold Flying is almost necessary.
Flying trivializes so many quests, speeds up your farming/questing/travel time to a large degree, and allows for all dailies, which is a lot of gold.

Epic Flying is cheaper now, it's price is affected by Reputation if you buy it in Hellfire, or Borean Tundra. I bought it for my Preist alt this weekend for 4,750, and she hardly had any reps (Raf gifted). The cheapest was my Paladin, 4,500g

    Good to know.

A few gold here or there adds up, especially over 5 toons or multiple sets of 5.

I was fearing that I diden't have the gc to get flying/riding skill and epic mounts last nigh... but no problem there.

My team have the Swift Frostsaber Mounts and flying form. I diden't have alot of time last night so I diden't setup the new macros etc. But I can definitely see the improvements in speed - can't wait to begin doing quests with them... Guess I have to spend a few hours tonight running around in Hellfire Peninsula

Can't wait to see the difference. I found 1000g on my mage last nigh which I diden't know I had. Now thats a nice little bonus hehe.

Thanks for the information concerning the mount speeds. Still a bit sad that travel form dosen't scale up a bit.

Travel Form is an instant cast, and can be used even in combat.
I believe it costs you a GCD, but still its very nice.

When a druid does a shape shift, it breaks just about any root or snare effect.
And it is faster then just about anyone else, other then maybe ghost wolf.
At least as an instant cast.

So even if its not the fastest method to go from A to B.
It is a very potent escape mechanism.
And prior to the lowering of the mount levels, it was an excellent speed boost at a level when everyone else was still running.

Between Cat Form >> Dash and Travel Form, and shifts to break root/snare, a druid is excellent at escape...
    Or running Warsong/EotS flags...
