Visiting NYC halloween weekend, what should I do!!

Title says it all. Joining some friends for a halloween party in queens, and therefore visiting NYC for the first time woot! Any boxers live up there? My friends will be around part of the time but I plan to go sightseeing during the day hours while they're at work.

I only have thursday morning through sunday night(and saturday night I'll be shitfaced), so what should I try to see in that amount of time?!? I wanna check out the usual tourist stuff, empire state, 911 site, lombardis pizza, statue of liberty etc... but are there some hidden secrets I need to see? Stupid touristy crap to stay away from?

FAO Schwarz toy store is a must see if your nearby, Rockefeller center is a quick look. The Intrepid musuem. At night, if you feel like just cruising around... the lights of time square are awesome.. West 4th st is always bustling and wait til Halloween ..what a sight you will see. You can spend days just walking up and down the city.

Things to do outside of Manhattan which require a train ride or a car:

If you have a ride (or feel a little brave) you can go up to Washington Heights (GHETTO but relatively safe) and see The Cloisters (great view). Also outside of the city are The Bronx Zoo and if you can check out Coney Island ..the amusement park might be open but there is probably halloween related stuff now.

I'm in Jersey now but I grew up in NYC/brooklyn and went to Aviation High in Queens. I'm very jaded and hate going into the city but I do have fond memories growing up there.
