Running on multiple PCs and losing connection

I've already sent keyclone an email, but yet to receive a response, so I'm posting here also.

Running latest version of keyclone on 2 PCs (Win XP). Mostly default settings. I am able to get the connection established between the 2 and see key broadcasting. After 5 minutes or so, the clone PC's keyclone locks up and must be terminated thru the task manager. Clone PC defined as the PC where keyclone is the client, not the master.

The description on the SolidIce site for setting up multiple computers to run this software is extremely minimal and I've found nothing in these forums that helps either. One final note, I've only purchased a single copy of keyclone.

If you people need any more info, just ask and it will be provided. Thanks in advance.

You will need one copy of Keyclone per PC.
That is likely your issue.

The license is forever, but you need one per PC.
You can transfer it to another PC, so even with an upgrade etc, it's still good.

Do you mean one licensed copy of keyclone per machine? If that's the case, then why is this not specified anywhere on SolidIce's site. (second sentence meant for keyclone). Thanks for the help Ualaa, but I'm not purchasing another copy unless I get a guarantee from keyclone that this will fix my problem.

Pretty much... Octopus, Hot Key Net, Auto Hot Key... are the free options.
I haven't tried any of these, but believe Octopus is no longer updated.
There are a lot of HKN supporters on the boards.

Keyclone, InnerSpace and GameCommanderPro are the pay options that I know of.
I started with Keyclone, but have moved to IS for the auto FTL, PiP swap speed and mouse broadcasting.



I'm not sure if there's another issue with your keyclone or not.
I do know you'll need a copy per machine, and that is likely the issue.
Still its a one-time fee per license, which is then good forever.

InnerSpace, unlike Keyclone, is a subscription based option.
$36 per year, but good on five machines.
I'd still recommend Keyclone as the first product, but IS has a ton of nice features.

I was considering actually purchasing the other client, then I remembered the 24-hour trial on Keyclone. So I got the second keyclone client into trial, and everything seems to work ok. Keyclone still locks up when I try to close it on the second PC, but at least the key broadcasting functions. Looks like my problem is solved for now. Still no response from keyclone to my email either. Thanks again for the help Ualaa
