4 paly's and Rogue

So here is the story.
My mains are at level 80 and pretty well gear for Heroics. They are lead by a Prot Pally.

I want some more lvl 80 toons for professions, farming world events, etc.
Having a lvl 80 Rogue would be handy to open lock boxes.
I have several lvl 60 RAF toons setting around.
So I was thinking of a group made up of 4 Pallys and a Rogue.
When the group gets to level 80 I could put togather a 5 Pally group, to play all Melee from time to time.

I would spec the Pallys: 1 Prot and 3 Ret while they level.
Question: Is a 4 pally & 1 Rogue group going to work?

Question: what Spec should I make the Rogue, as I know very little about them?

I've found that combat spec is easiest if you can't (get sick of) really focus on positioning and stealth. While it is possible to build a back stab rogue where you either control the rogue to position around the mob, or control the tank and try to get the mob's back to the rogue, it is a royal pain IMHO.

I would pick one of the shadowstep cold blood hemo builds. I cannot sing the praises of shadowstep enough.

I'd suggest doing this and replace the rogue for a Blood DK as he would maximize your ret pallies DPS.

A rogue is a fun class.

But if you're not really going to keep the toon at 80th anyway...
I'd pick something which either adds more to the team, or is easier to play.

When I get the rogue to 80 I likely will only play him solo. The Four other pallies will group with my Main to form a 5 Pally team.

I also have 5 X DK, 5 X Shaman, 5 X Druid, and 5 X Warlock teams all at 60 from RAF, I would like to level them some day, but I had room in this Pally group so I figured why not drag a Rogue along. When I play 5 Pallies I want use Main so I only needed to level 4 more Pallies.

I sort of want to try a Melee group for a while just for fun. I need some thing different to play with to mix it up some. This way I get to learn a new class in the Rogue, I just need to know where to start.

Hah I did this, except I added the rogue to my shaman+ paladin team. I got him all geared out in ToC25 stuff and then recently said to myself, "self why did you just gear the shit out of a character that barely keeps up with your shaman on dps who are a full tier in gear behind him(when I run heroics with him)?" /smack

I wont be doing that solo shit anymore. It's kinda fun, but then you get that one PuG Raid... the one that makes you wonder why you talk to anyone in this game. I wish I had spent all that time PuG raiding on my shaman. They would each have a good bit of ToC10 and 25 gear by now.
