ok, I had a blast today, and wanted to tell y'all about it =)

Well, my Clerics are 25, and I got bored running around the Abyss killing one or two people an hour, since not enough people are there, so I went back and found a lucky rift to Morheim. It was amazing fun, I was there for about 4 hours, I brought with me 10 Kisks and ended up using 5 of them. I tried to FRAPS it, but as soon as I hit my record key, the window I was working on completely went white and I had to close it.

BUT, even though I was often out numbered, and almost always out leveled (I was hanging out in the desert area with the lvl 27-29 mobs) I ended up with 5k AP from it, and a blast and a half =) I had another cleric with me for a bit, and a ranger I saw on thew way, and one assassin who joined me for about 3 hours. All in all, it was a LOT of fun. Not much lvling, though my first 2 toons did ding 26, I had a really fun time whomping people hard. I would imagine that ranger or sorceror or gladiators or whatever you would have would be fun too, as long as there is some kind of heals/ res around. I found the clerics to be exactly what I needed. The Self-res is amazing and the dmg is still pretty good considering it is the games main healing class, which also makes this devastatingly tough, given that you wear mail, can tank as well as a glad for certain classes and can full heal the party every 6 seconds with a 2 second cast.. it's really only when you run out of mana that you get messed up, or when 50 people gank you XD but that's what the Kisk's are for =)

Good times, I wish I had some video to show you, but suffice to say, PvP in Aion does work it is fun and even if it's not as smooth or easy as wow, it has certainly been more fun that I have had in wow for a LONG time.

same reason that hunters are a novelty in WoW, they can't heal. It's fun, but with clerics, I am unkillable when I have mana in an even fight. And Clerics still put out some decent dmg, much more than a holy priest in WoW. Clerics are so much like shamans its amazing. They wear chain (mail) shields, they have rebirth (Ankh) Healing Wind (insane chain heal) etc etc etc.
It's a good combo.

What about running 2 clerics? You think it would be worth it? Like Shaman were allright running a pair....but with 4+ it became op.
I have a lvl 21 templar/chanter combo atm......it is nice to lvl and pve with....but I dont think it will be too good pvp wise. If a pair of clerics are a decent team....i might reroll.

I think that 2 of anything won't be even half as powerful as 4x the same thing, but if I were to pick two, I'd probably go ranger and cleric / chanter since you can probably do a lot more ranged DPS with a cleric/ranger combo and still have a few buttons to heal when required. Ranger is also a great class to lvl, and a healer / ranger combo has been proven to be an excellent way to lvl (since the first 2 US 50's were a chanter / ranger combo who lvld together, i think they are dating etc)

All in all, i'd rather lvl as a temp / chanter or a glad / chanter so I had the option of tanking and healing in groups. When you get to a certain level, grouping in instances and group quests is essential, and it will be really handy to just fill groups with DPS as required. Tanking is a lot harder in this game, but the biggest problem is healer aggro, which is managed correctly by the same person who is tanking, should be minimized.

Either way, have a go. Get them to at least 25 and see what you think. It doesn't take that long to get there, and you shoudl have fun up to and including Abyss areas before deciding to continue. In the end, Abyass is where most people will be hanging out, so decide if your team is for PvE or PvP. A Tank / Healer combo won't be spectacular in PvP but would be great for tanking bosses in fortresses etc etc in the Abyss.

Hmmm i have 6 clerics made, I might have to give them a try. I know my wife's solo cleric does rather well.

I also have a set of chanters. I wonder how they would be in comparison?

I would be interested to see how chanters go, as they do more dmg than clerics, but they do not rely on shields I don't believe and so their defense goes way down when you gimp their shield and their healing vs clerics, but hey, play what you like =)

If I had a full set of 6, I would have 1 Templar, 1 Cleric and 4 Rangers =) But that would be a pretty PvE based team, for PvP definitely 6 Clerics =).. or 6 Gladiators.. actually 6 of anything would be pretty beast XD

or SM Sorc SM or Sorc SM Sorc or maybe a ranger in the mix

The grind in Aion has made me stop multi-boxing....solo ranger is a lot of fun

well dividing kill xp / 6 must be a bore yes; that and no jamba for quest management is why I think 2-4 is the maximum I could stand to preserve my sanity - well that and if you have more than 2 I think you're very likely to get reported all the times - but that makes the aion 6boxers all the more impressive !

ps: even with kill xp / 2 I didn't need to grind anything to reach 27 so far...
