Default Is it legal to sell kills?

I was wondering if it is legal (or better, if I risk any warning or banning) to sell kills (of course for ingame gold, nothing else).

My plan is to provide horde "targets" to alliance players to get their Halaa Battle Token, of course asking for a gold sum. Especially now that there is no more faciton restriction on PVP server, that would be an easy way to "money up" toons on a new faction.

Do you think it can work or will I get banned? Thinking of it doesn't seem worse than selling a raid slot. Am I wrong?

I believe that is ban-able offense, yes. I think it is called Kill Trading.

Kill trading is bannable. A ton of arena players got banned a year or so ago for doing it.

Ouch! That's bad. I wonder how the hell are people gonna get the halaa battle tokens nowadays.

People on Bonechewer have been organizing "fight nights" and creating raids for that. You might start a thread on your server's forums and see what happens.

You get www.wowhead.com/?item=Halaa Battle Token From HKs in Halaa / at the flying points. These mounts are not new and have been on the vendors in Halaa since BC release. The reaseach tokens come from turning in www.wowhead.com/?item=Oshu'gun Crystal Powder Sample which is a PITA, since it's soulbound, and unique 100. Although it drops of nearly any mob in Nagrand.

If you were to create opposite faction characters and kill them off yourself, I don't think Blizzard would actually like this behavior but at the same time, I think you'd be ok doing it.

If you were to turn around and charge so much gold to log on a toon who stands there and gets killed, you're profiting from an unintended game mechanic.

Really not a whole lot of difference between the first and second, except that with the second, the chance of a GM hearing of it from another player goes up dramatically.

It's probably not worth taking the risk, but its up to you.

    ^This

Organizing an event is one thing, win-trading is another.

I've opened a ticket and the GM said that as long as there is someone playing the characters, i.e. their actions are not automated, it is legal.

I am not really sure if the GM has understood the situation, though. Maybe I'll open a post on the official forums (and let the flame come).
