Default interact with target spam problem

when i spam (interact with target) after i kill the target i just run in a straight line like auto run. How can I fix this?

/stopattack? Is that right? I think there's a command in there to stop attacking.

I never see this with my rogue, when i run her in the team, she's the only one who uses it, so I just have it set to F2, and she just stops when the mob is dead.

Does the character who's doing this have something that is choosing a target after the mob they're attacking is dead? Did you maybe leave a keybind in there for "target next enemy" or something, that's happening when you intend for something else? (Like have that key bound to something on your main). Are you turning auto run on by mistake?

I would run to the practice dummies and see if you can duplicate it, and if you have something like Xperl installed, keep an eye one what your guy is targeting after the kill, and see if it gives you a clue to what's going on.

I would say post the macro, is the example that you have five rogues and they are all interact with target and then hitting a another button for a /assist /castsequenc macor?

If your using some method of pushing two key commands ala, CTRL-I for interact with target and then a grind macro like Backspace with a programmed wait from one key press. These are going to queue up in some multiplexers. If you cannot avoid doing this, you need someway of dumping the queue in the multiplexer. Likely this is toggling the multiplexer off and on.

I get the same problem. Though it only happens at the start of a fight. It goes a little like this:

I target and hit 'G' which is my FTL/Assist macro then I run up to the mob and hit 'F' which is my keybind for interact with target. At which point occasionaly one or all of my guys (even the current leader I am playing) will start to auto run. So far I stop this by catching it quickly and telling my guys to follow me again. If I dont see it though, things get a little messy

Also to note. I played a day with my alt toons having 'Click to run' set off and I never experienced this problem. Yesterday I had it turned on and it started. Maybe its a bug in the game?

So these characters actually just autorun, like as in NUMLOCK into the distance? Yikes that is odd.

I use interact with target mostly for having the slaves talk to vendors and npcs and from time to time the one or more of the slaves will go off into the distance and talk to a stale NPC I was talking to.

I am pretty aware that the targeting delay with the slaves can be at fault, but sometimes they clearly revert back to a NPC I have since stopped targeting a few times over (main talks to repairs, auctioneer, banker and now the slaves want to talk to the repair guy when I have the banker targeted) In instances at times the slaves give the 'is to far away' and they have a stale target.

At times I almost think this is related mechanically to the fear / loss of control targeting problem. Perhaps cleartarget and then assist is the thing to do for a while.

I get some weird - often comical - behaviour using interact with target, including random runaways and characters entering headless chicken mode, but not AFTER I kill the target. Once it's dead, they lose their target anyway.

Perhaps you have click-to-move on, and your toon that's running off has a target off in the direction he's running? (i.e. maybe they're not all targetting what you think they are).

This is rather easy to fix, and is JUST like the auto follow run off spam bug.

When you click to move with interact with target just make sure the mob has stopped moving before you send your alts at it. I always pull with my druid with key passing turned off, get mobs into position then unpause and go to town.
What happens is the click to move when the mob is moving targets a pixel in a higher quadrant like just a little in the air, and the game tries to send the toons to that location and they go running off almost like all the way around the world to get there.

The fix is patience and pay attention, get the mob standing still THEN click to move/interact with it.

    Good luck!

Well after doing it some more i found out that its not just after there dead its if i spam it.
It happens if a spam the key and the target moves then my toon just starts running like on auto run but the target isnt dead. And if i keep spamming the key he keeps turning to its target but if i stop spamming the key it will just run in a straight line like auto run untill i stop him.
Its not mobs im trying to kill here its real players that always move.
