Priest/Pally spec questions

Hi All,

I've been dual boxing from 0-66 so far with my priest/pally. I've been running them as Holy/Disc and Ret. This seems to work fairly well for leveling/quests but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience running shadow/prot? Does moving more dps to the priest and more damage mitigation to the pally work well?

Any tips/specs or suggestions are more than welcome

I found solo, once my pally had Holy Shield and Blessing of Sanctuary, she was killing basically as fast Prot as she was Ret.

Ret was superior for a single mob or a couple at a time.
But Prot could easily run into a large group with little fear.

I'd personally go Protection Paladin with Disc/Shadow priest.
Take the 2/3 pts in Holy for pushback reduction on heals, and possibly improve your Renew as well.
Shadow to improve SW:Pain and pick up Mind Flay.
Discipline is a very strong healing spec, especially for only one target.

Your priest can support dps on bosses with SW: Pain, Devouring Plague, Holy Fire and then Mindblast, Mindflay or Smite.

About the only keys for the pally is to keep Holy Shield up, use Blessing of Sanctuary on himself and to spec into the deep Protection talent where Divine Plea is refreshed by hitting a mob. Once you have that, your mana is infinite. A very simple 96969 macro will keep you alive and holding threat very easily on one button spam.
