Problem when chainging main computer

Hello, i have been using my laptop with windows vista as main computer before but now i wanted
to change my main computer to my stationary computer with windows xp on it, the problem is that
the vista computer wont pick up any keystrokes at all, it does register me starting up my main wow
and all but cant get it to recive keystrokes, ive looked over all options several times, changed port
forwarding in my router etc but still wont work!
