Default Little tips to make life easier

#1 i figured out to type /equip (name of item) and broadcast it to all clones to have everyone equip it. But can you do it with a ring or trinket because it always picks the first one.

#2 With those random drops that start quests when you pick it up you type /use (item name) and braodcast key strokes and each clone will use item and start quests.

Any other tips would be appreciated from all you vets out there

I haven't installed Jamba 0.5 yet, but I read in the notes on it it has an 'item bar', that you can put a usable item on and when you use it on the main, it'll automatically use it on the slaves as well. so things you use on a creature's corpse or whatnot can go there...

nice tips, I just use combuctor and just turn on mouse/keyboard broadcasting and use the search in combuctor to find the item and right click it for all toons. although to acomplish this task, combuctor window has to be in the same place on all toons.

but the way you said seems easier hehe

I wrote an addon that looks at my situation (usually a daily) and writes a macro under my backslash keybinding to fit, e.g. if the addon notices I've flown into Jotunheim and I still haven't completed the quest, the addon will write me a macro /use Ebon Blade Banner. If the addon sees that I've pulled up to a harpoon, the macro becomes /cast Rapid-Fire Harpoon. It's wonderfully mindless but not very flexible -- if I haven't done it before, it's probably not going to be supported yet. In that rare event that I want to equip or use an item that isn't already covered, I write a macro under my alt-backslash keybinding, then invoke another addon that copies that macro to each alt. It's only slightly cumbersome but works really well.

    You could use "equipslot"

    /equipslot 14 Trinket of Awesomeness

would put your "trinket of awesomeness" in the second trinket slot. Here's a list of the trinket, ring and weapon slot numbers so you can enjoy the equipslot goodness that is available to you
    11 : ring 1
    12 : fring 2
    13 : trinket 1
    14 : trinket 2
    16 : main hand
    17 : off hand

Jamba for things like usable items {lance, pick-up quest starters, quest /use items}. For example, my horde lance for AT dailies in slot 1. Goes in the same place every day automatically. CTRL-NumPad1, they all equip the lance. Then I have an equipment set and a macro :

    #show 16
    /equipset reg

The #show 16 part displays what is in my mainhand slot and clicking the macro puts my normal gearset for all toons.

If you're using the built in equipment manager, you can use the command:

    /equipset <setname>

You can macro it as well, i.e.

    /equipset [mod:alt] <set1>; [mod:ctrl] <set2>; <set3>

to have 3 different sets mapped to the one key.

For the quest starting items I just use the addon Autoitemstartquest.
You pick up an item and the quest menu pops up, you interact with a few times so all your alts loot.
Then I just click the accept button on my main.
