Healing/DPS at the same time!

Hey guys.. so after getting full furious or w/e.. going to go try some pve for a change.. (ima noob at this)

so I read all the forums and got all the macros set up. I run 4 shammies, for pve.. 1 resto, 3 ele, (my friend tanks!!)

So, after getting all the macros I got my dps button on my dps'ers, and my heal spells up on my healers window.

1.Because I have a friend tank, and its not me, what im doing is i am /assist him so they can target what he is doing.. Is this the best way to do it?
2. as for the healing, I got numpads 1-6 for target each guy and heal them..
3. When it comes to just healing the tank, do I put all the spells out on the bars, then on the dps'ers bars I just copy and paste my dps ownage button? so that its on every button i use for healing so they just stay dpsing? but this might not work for the /castsequence that I am doing, because i might change up where I am at in the middle of the seqeunce.!

Use a healing mod such as VuhDo on the healer and lead with the healer. Much easier to heal your group with the mouse and dps with the keyboard. /assist party1 or your tanks name works fine. If you use FTL then /assist with the healer and have your shamans assist the healer. It is an extra step but you have the chance to stop casting if the tank targets something in the next pack that he shouldn't. Also having the current target up on your healer lets you do some dps with the healer on easy healing segments.

Edit: I do this when I run with my tanking buddy. It is a blast not having to worry about tanking for a few runs. Just blow stuff up and heal.

You can do a lot of assist healing.

/assist Tank's Name
/cast [help] Renew; [help, target=targettarget] Renew

This will Renew the friendly target of the tank, but if that target is hostile, then it will cast at the target of the tank's target, which is likely the tank but possibly another dps who overnuked.

I like to have one key for having the other shammies assist with heals.
They do the assist heal button, for lesser healing wave.

The main healer (shammy) has Healing Wave, Earth Shield, Chai Heal and Riptide as assist heals, along with toon specific heals too.

On my other group, the (priest) has Renew, PW: Shield, Penance/Flash Heal as assist heals, Holy Nova on its own key and Penance/Flash Heal for each individual toon on a G-key. My Penance/Flash macro is something like: /castsequence reset=7 Penance, Flash Heal, Flash Heal, Flash Heal.

i just use isboxer now and vuhdu with mouse click for a certain region. Allowed by isboxer to pick a certain area to broadcast mouse clicking over all screens. I just keep my mouse near that region and pull with tank and click button 1-5 on my mouse for healing whoever needs it.

This is how I 5 box and I just drop the tank for 4 manning with friends. I have done a couple of timed cos runs as a 4 man and boy was it easy. Leading with the healer allows me to park the dps and run around like I was soloing. Helps to control the chaos a little.
