    Default Violet Hold normal down...

How much harder is the Heroic? I wanted a quick run tonight, as I was tired, and not a Heroic, because I wanted to try out some gear changes on my tank and some new healing macros, so I ran into the closest one, Violet Hold. I've watched the videos and read the fight descriptions before, so I knew what was coming, a Caverns of Time Dark Portal type run.

    It's pretty fun!

I blew through it on normal, I just drank after every group (I'm overhealing, I need to tweak the macros, priest is going OOM very fast), and got through all the bosses fine - and *almost* wiped on the final boss, I had her down to 30% with full green bars on everyone, and the mage broke aggro and I think she tail swiped everyone, I lose 3, the lock and pally still standing - bubbled and bashed her down. Pretty awesome.

MUCH better performance from the pally, now I have more consistent healing. I have a renew/flash heal spam button on 1, with delays, so the pally is constantly being healed - I just need to slow it down a touch. The pally never went below 90%.

Now I want to try it on Heroic, just to see - how much harder is it?

Xevozz is pretty nasty until you have some good DPS gear. Ichoron requires some technique but isn't all that hard once you get the routine. Rest should be ok, but most heroics are a challenge when you're in blues :-)

The shadow boss is annoyingly hard until your healer can aoe heal through it, which I can only now finally do on my druid healer. The ball boss guy is...just stupid hard. lol...hate hate hate. Haven't beaten him once yet. 30% is my closest...so that's the main challenge there. Rest is not bad at all.

Final boss can be a pain depending on how many times she throws blizzard on your team.

Really though, work on that balance of reducing overhealing and conserving mana, and keeping everyone topped off. I found my first few times in Heroic VH to be a mana fest, my guys weren't doing as much damage, my healer needed to throw out more heals, and inefficient ones at that, so I was drinking madly between each fight, causing delays that made me rush, etc.

It's not the hardest heroic by any means, but it's significantly harder due to the forced nature of it than, say, UK or Gun Drak or something.

Its mainly knowing the right strat.

For xevozz the one with the aoe glowing balls that follow em does damage and gives em a huge buff yeh gotta kite.

zuramat the one that does allot of aoe yeh need to either take who ever has the debuff ,forget what its called, and kill the balls or just power thru it. make sure to have shadow resist up.

With ichoron use the things on the wall to kill the adds forget what there called .

The rest are pretty much tank-n-spank

Basically if yeh can maintain at least 1.2k dps with each guy not including yer healer and yer tank has 535 def then yeh should be able to do it.

yer definitly gonna have to work on mana conservation the only time yeh will be able to sit and drink on heriocs is after the boss.

I don't have any trouble with Xevozz, but Ichoron kicks my butt every time!

What I hate about this instance is, that if you die you need to start over.

I haven't tried it on heroic because my gear suck and I don't like the instance at all.

I dont like VH and will skip it if it comes up as my random. The gauntlet style instance is not friendly to making any mistakes. Also once you get geared, because of the timed intervals, it never goes by any faster.
