Can you heal Brann during the escort/defend quest? I kept getting backed up on mobs (first try), and he died. If so, I'll just make a heal macro for him, the mobs are trivial on normal. If not, I'll keep trying.

Yes, you can heal him.

Never tried this myself, but from what i could find on the web; Yes it's possible.
If it works, you might want to /focus him and use some macro's to heal focus, so you can stay at stairs strafing left/right all the time.
