The new corei5 / corei7 systems with 8-12GB ram are fine for 5boxing these days. I started as a software boxer on a core2quad 2.8 with 8gb ram and a crap video card. Works fine. the new systems are 2x as powerful and you can snag one for 700-900 bucks.
about GPUs... you don't need the top end vid card. Save some money and go raid0 double HDs or something that will actually help. WOW doesn't need a great GPU.

Raid 0 or even better a disk for your OS and an other disk just for WoW. If you make the single disk for wow an SSD that will probably get you a nice performance increase as opposed to a regular magnetic disk.Originally Posted by asonimie
