New Poll: what software key replication software do people use

Well, ultimately we're lucky in that we have a lot of great choices.

With several programs running (and the option to go the hardware route too), we can pick and choose the product which works best for us.

Each will have various strengths, and over time copy the strongest features into their own program. I remember the FTL thread when it first came out - it used keyclones hotstrings. Now you can FTL with several programs, and even have a wizard in several to do it automatically.

The products all seem to have strong author support, are reasonably priced so you could even sample several if you choose, and many users strongly advocate one product or another indicating most of these programs are high quality.

We have choice and options.

That's a very nice luxury.

Its hard to get a real idea of what the percentages are anyway.

So many people buy / use the products, and NEVER post here. Hell, some have never even been to this forum.

You'd have to get Keyclone to give "purchase" number, and Lax to give "subscription" numbers. I don't know how HKN works, but its probably similar.

I certainly can't speak for accurate numbers on anyones part, but I've purchased 5 copies of KeyClone, I know two of my coworkers have purchased a copy each...

I know two people (IRL) that have purchased IS Subs and keep them current...

Keep in mind that I purchased 90 days and haven't paid a penny more to IS... the rest of that is referrals 45 days at a time (there was a period that it was 90 days while Lax did a special... but most is 30/45).

there was a poll thread prior to the forum switchover. about 1,000 votes. consistently 80% keyclone. (it was an ongoing poll)

as for hkn being 'so popular'... looks like the hkn forums pumped it up

The number of 1 post voters/commenters on the old poll lead me to believe that there was a significant level of encouragement by someone to vote for a specific product...

Speaking of which, there's a new post on that thread, which had all but disappeared from the internet, and no longer even has a poll!

Only used Keyclone, but to me it seems the most updated.

And since it renewed my interest in WoW, paying for it goes to the creator to give him a little love.

I steered clear of IS in the past because it was always associated with nefarious activities, but had compelling reasons to change lately and haven't looked back.
