Wotlk - ICC - Halls of Reflection (HoR)

I finally got back on the PTR and ran all of the new 5 mans on normal just to see how they play. I also tested out the new Dungeon Finder tool. I have seen two posts from Niley on the Forge of Souls (FoS) and Pit of Saron (PoS) but not on Halls of Reflection (HoR). The quest chain lore is a nice touch.

It's another rather quick run through this one, first fight is a 2 boss multi wave affair. You have to kill several waves of mobs before the first boss comes in. Most (if not all) of the mobs are undead so Pally tanks will shine here. Hints, position your team back in the entrance hall to concentrate the waves. Mages are a bit of a pain so you might have to move out to get them. Both bosses have debuffs so watch the dispels and a shadow resist should mitigate some damage. You get a small rest than more waves and the second boss.

After finishing this 2 boss fight, you run down a hall with a single guard who summons shades of your group. Nothing to hard here just odd he isn't more difficult.

At the end of the hall you start a gauntlet style escape. On normal it's really not too bad, loads of undead so again the pally tank helps out. I was unable to finish the instance on multiple attempts due to a disconnect bug running up the last ramp, I just hope they fixed it for live servers.

Oh on a side note, I checked out the first part of the QuelD chain. Guess I am going to be farming the Battered Hilt (Heroic 5 man trash drop). PoS seems to have the most trash, but I think the drop rate will be quite low. Mace reward is http://db.mmo-champion.com/i/50051/hammer-of-purified-flame/

You can park your team behind where the bosses are standing to LoS the waves of guys, made it really trivial for me on my all paladin team.

I'm going to try running the new 5man ICC heroics tonight with my melee team, if anyone else gets a chance to hit these places up with 5x melee i'd appreciate any words of wisdom / protips!

Agree! I find PoS a bit harder. I finished all 3 today 8) The only item i will be farming is the off hand in this instance, So I'm glad its easier! I got the tank axe and sword for my paly and the shield from normal PoS, nothing else I need with my main team now. ( just the off hand for my dps )

Oh and don't bother standing out of range of the Lich King and grinding him down. He will retain 1 HP forever. It was fun to see what happened but not worth repeating

thanks mamut, i'll try that with my caster team. i hate having to run all over the area gathering up archers and illusion mages before they waste one of my guys (which happens a lot).

The place rapes lol, i find it not challenging but def not easy even when im running with a normal group of geared players.
