In heroics you prolly dont have much rage to burn, tanking bosses you have to burn HS, basically the main problem most warriors have with being prot atm (when you check all the forums). Cleave really helps on aoe tanking, few mobs on you your rage should be getting higher, if not lose some gear.

I don't know if it has been mentioned here or not, but going with a simple devastate rotation is probably best. Yes you can open up with Shield block, Shield Slam, TC and SW for AoE and cleave, but for single targets just devastate and SS when the proc goes off. With the right gear devastate does enough dps and threat to keep you well ahead on threat.

On my warrior tank I normally charge in, SB, SM, and devastate on single mobs, or charge, TC, Demo shout, SW and tab-cleave for AoE. I only use revenge on low rage situations. Hope that helps those working out their rotations.

    ^^ I agree

Since were all boxing, keeping it simple is best. As someone mentioned a warrior is extremely difficult to micromanage compared to a pally. However I have found devastate to be the best rotation as kamsrage mentioned also. I have glyphed sunder armor, and devastate, so it stacks 2 effects per devastate, and hits an extra enemy nearby( Doesn't break CC) It cost me 9 rage to drop, and I never run out of rage using it. I just spam it with a few combat abilities at the end of my castsequence, and it works great.

    Mine looks like this

/castsequence reset=combat/target Devastate, Devastate, Devastate, Devastate, Devastate, Shield Slam, Rend, Heroic Strike

I don't ever use cleave, it cost way to much rage, and it only hits one extra mob. Devastate hits 2 mobs, cost 9 rage, and is spammable. Cleave is annoying bc it waits for your next attack to land, and if your spamming other abilties(like I do!) it won't go off. Also the click sequence for warriors is crap, I never liked it, and I don't use it. Just macro it in a castsequence, and give your abilities with timers a second or two extra to ensure you don't get caught waiting for that cooldown.

Regardless a warrior is much harder to use then a pally on average fights, but as a warrior you also get some very handy abilities for boss encounters that can't go unnoticed....

    Hope to see more feedback.

Just wanted to let those interested know that Furs macro works pretty well! At lower gear levels where you might not have as much block/dodge/parry it will get stuck on revenge, but its no big deal once you start gearing up to tank. Cant wait to try my warrior out in instances, woot!

Im using a warrrior tank for my team, and have no threat problems at all. Imo the trick is to keep it simple.
I dont use HS/cleave at all, i get enough singel target threat from shield slam, revenge and devestate, and enough aoe threat from TC and Shockwave.

Instead of messing about with revenge/hs glyphs, i go for blocking, vigilance and shockwave. Blocking is nice for boosting Shield slam threat, vigilance is a huge passive threat boost you only have to click once every 30 min and shockwave is nice for aoe threat. If i was runnign with hunters as DPS i would change shockwave glyph to dvestate tough, for applying suder faster for extra damage.
Using sunder armor glyph isnt much help to magic damage teams from what i have heard, as it only spread the debuff, not the threat a suder gives. This might be wrong tough, havent tested it out myself to confirm/deny it.

    My tanks keybinds:
2- Devestate macro that also uses cooldowns like shield block, stoneform(dwarf racial) and trinkets.
    3- Shield Slam
    4- Revenge
    5- Shockwave
    F- Thunderclap

    Shamans:
    1- Flame shock
    2- Lightningbolt
    3- Lightningbolt
    4- Lava Burst
    5- Chain lightning
    F- unbound

What i do is to use button 3 if shield slam is off CD, but 2 if its on CD (devestate has a chance to remove the remaining time on shield slam CD). Whenvever revenge is avilable or Lava burst gets of CD i use button 4.
At the same time im spamming F button whenever TC gets off CD. If its a group of trash im pulling i mix in button 5 for extra aoe threat and chain lightnings.

That is waaaay too much micro managing for a MB group. Im more worried about healing+dps than tanking. Fur's macro works wonders for me. I do Shockwave and Conc Blow seperately, but thats it.

This is what I use when my warrior is in tank mode->

    /castsequence reset=combat Shield Slam,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
    /castsequence reset=combat Thunder Clap,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,
    /castsequence reset=combat Shockwave,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
    /cast Devastate

You need to time the thunderclap so devastate can go off. I am not rage starved and usually have about 20 rage at the end of battle in an instance. Be sure to get the glyph that allows devastate to apply sunder x2 per hit. I put thunderclap in as it generates lots of threat and shockwave is used for mini CC (it stuns all the mobs). I already know that this combo is not perfect or even dps/threat efficient. But I do know that I am always getting something to fire off and that I don't run out of rage. There are no hang ups. The mobs die fast enough that I don't need to micromanage everything. My warrior has had no problem with holding all aggro even during damage spikes from the boomkin.
