I can kind of Sympathize with you, as I my oldest Son Chris, is gay. Not the same thing as what you are going through, But the ability to voice such things to friends in family is a huge step. It took him a long time to accept it himself, But he did have me and his mother being very supportive of him.

I hope you find the same thing man.

I pretty much have disowned my entire family accept for my twin brother and little brother. I come from a VERY dysfunctional family and figured it was best if I parted ways with them in hopes of being a bit less dysfunctional. Guess that sounds kinda funny about right now.

Like i said before im happy for you and what your about to do but oweeee. Just thinking about a doc taking a knife to my downstairs area just makes me cringe in pain. You my friend have the biggest set in the world to undergo that. Yes, Females' tend to have / create less DHT (what causes hair loss) than males, thus less DHT = More hair growth / less hair loss. It may not directly cause hair growth, but it does lessen hair loss.

I know *way* too much about hair loss.

I have always had a full head of hair but noticed brand new hairs growing in addition to what I already had. It is also growing very fast compared to my normal slow rate of growth. My sideburns have changed as well to a different looking type of hair. Hard to explain but I don't have real sideburns anymore.

Yep, the hair is / will probably evolve into a softer / finer / thinner hair as the treatment goes on. The therapy is very much affecting your hair growth, a lot of people don't realize how hair growth works, or how hair cycles work. You may notice a change in texture of your hair to be finer as well. It may take a year or so to fully change, but your hair growth cycle speeding up is just more hair follicles entering the growth stage as opposed to the rest stage. Pretty cool, most grown men would KILL for the ability to force their hair into nearly full growth stage. Most wouldn't go to the length of hormone therapy, they just stick to rogaine :_) I deal a lot with hair loss and we've had a lot of customers go through the process you're going through. The reason their coming to us is because their hair growth cycle has stalled, or has gone into overdrive. Just one of the many side effects.
