So, I found some time to re-test this evening.

The following is accurate as of 3.2.2 (2nd October 2009):

It is NOT POSSIBLE to sap somebody in Ghost Wolf - the rogue gets "Invalid target".

Fire Nova totem, Magma Totem and Thunderstorm all BREAK STEALTH.

Searing Totem doesn't any longer, and nor does Stoneclaw.

For completeness, I also tested with Earthbind and although the stealthed rogue / druid (I tried with both) gets the slowing effect, they appear to be immune to the root effect and it doesn't break stealth.

It's a shame about Searing Totem, because it lasted the longest and had the longest range. That was probably the problem of course - cheap, long lasting and long range probably = overpowered.

I forsee my guys all huddled around their 8 yard Magma Totems!

Perfect thats what i do in bgs. I lay down magma and fire nova and it keeps any stealth from coming to me. They wont attack if they cant get element of surprise. But also even tho hes stealth when they get to close you can still hear him. Just turn up ur abience and pay attention for the woosh sound. Youll know hes in the area then drop fire nova and if hes that close it will pull him out.
They say spiders have 8 legs well i guess im a rare and unimaginable specimen. Ive got 9 legs and my web comes from that 9th leg. HaHa.

That's some awesome news! How did you test it if I may ask? Because I'm really sure quite recently I've been sapped in wolf.

EDIT: Sadly just asked a rogue to try it in duel and I was sapped in Ghost Wolf :/

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing. I just got sapped last week by a rogue in AV.

    I wonder what's up?
No matter where you go, there you are.

This makes no sense to me and I can't offer an explanation.

I just this second tried it again, to make sure I didn't do something wrong in my test, and got the same result (combat log snapshot attached).

It's odd, to say the least, that some of you see different behaviour.

Maybe a rogue glyph or talent?

When you tried the sap were you out of combat?

Other things might be that you were duelling someone from the same side... might act differently than normal pvp.

Perhaps go to the arena in nagrand and fight there.
