Default Waiting for the rogue - How do you handle it?

I'm clueless here... when there are rogues in the other team you just sit and wait...

I believe that earthbind used to get them out of stealth but it doesn't seem to work anymore since I put it in front of my team, get back a bit and still get sapped without it working on the rogue.

Do you have any hint on how to handle this? Or you just wait too? It's not that serious having one of my shaman sapped but it's much more having my healer.

    Thank you.

edit: update since this thread appears in searches.

The following information is incorrect as of October 2009. See here for my more recent experiments to determine which totems break stealth.

    ----------
The only totems that pull rogues out of stealth are Stoneclaw (yes, really...) and the fire totems.

I always put down a searing totem because it lasts for a full minute without recasts AND has a nice long range.

I even do that when I'm solo shopping in Wintergrasp between battles, and have caught out quite a few druids and rogues .

To avoid sapping, stay in ghost wolf. To avoid dying to the initial burst, consider Glyphs of Stoneclaw Totem.

That's first-hand information by the way - I tested it myself against my own rogue several weeks ago, and posted a thread about it somewhere.

    Otlecs,

Stoneclaw no longer pulls rogues out of stealth - I remember something like that in the patch notes for 3.2.2.
Made me sad - as I caught quite a few rogues in BG's that way.

I'm also under the impression that rogues have been able to sap shaman in ghostwolf for quite some time (that i'm less sure about).

    Doh. Yes, you're right:

Stoneclaw Totem's pulses will no longer break stealth on nearby hostile units.
Thanks for the heads-up. So much for first-hand information.

I'll re-test tonight to confirm for myself exactly what drags who out of stealth and whether I can sap a GW. I used it in AV yesterday to get away from an irritating rogue who was just using it as a delaying tactic, but may have just been lucky.

While I don't arena, I do guard towers a lot in AV and drop 1 Earthbind and 4 magmas. I've not been surprised yet.

Altsoba - what healer are you running with?

I know pally's can put a blessing (is it sacrifice) that transfers damage to them when you are hit.
They could use this if they know there are stealth (assume rogue) running around. One hit to you and the damage
will break the sap. Guess they'd want to drop that blessing quite quickly though to avoid too much damage to themselves.

other than that getting in combat would stop rogues being able to use sap, but that's an aggressive tactic.

Running with a Priest. So guess atm we have no solution but... wait for the sap?

But how does searing work with stealth? It detects the rogue?
Fire Nova and Magma do nothing, I still get sapped...

Sadly, I'm pretty sure the sap-immunity of ghost-wolf is gone too.

While I understand the need for a rogue to not just be trivially pulled out of stealth, I think dirty tricks has gone a little too far. The other day I was in wintergrasp and there was a rogue griefing me by repeatedly sapping one of my shaman. He never opened, he just kept sapping. I tried everything, magma totems, weaving my shaman around in unpredictable pattern, thunderstorm just as he sapped, etc. Nothing worked.

It's silly that I know there's a rogue there, but I can't do anything about his attempt to sap me. One you, as a rogue, have exposed your presence your "stealth" should be very vulnerable imo.
No matter where you go, there you are.
