I finally had to fight some mobs that cast stuff on me instead of melee today. Wow they kicked my ass. The mobs were equal level and it took everything I had to kill them for the quest. I died twice trying to complete it. I hope caster mobs are not this hard all the time. If they are I may need to change my class to something else.

What level are you and were the mobs (and in which zone) ? Also how many / are they elite mobs ? The krall mobs for instance are level 17 but nobody can solo them at level - they are meant to be dealt with as a group - maybe that's the same for the mobs you encountered ?

I know what you mean. I have 2 sorcerer so it isn't as bad because they die quicker. What i do is make sure that my shield is on and that it is at full, if it isn't at full i make sure that the cd is off. Go in and start attacking. If the mob is about to die and you have full health and no shield only put shield on if you are going to die. After the fight put the shield on and rest (good thing about a sorc is that health comes back to full in like 2 seconds), and resting will also lower the cd time because of resting after casting. Then go to the next one. Also if you know the mob is a caster don't throw your freeze spell at them, it is a waste because it doesn't do the same damage as your fire spells. If you do use your freeze use the pushback effect, this should give you 1 free fire spell cast.

Daul boxing sorc things usually die by the time they get to you if you are 80% max range. So i usually never put my shield up (save mana) unless i know the mob shoots. The other thing that i noticed is that if you cast the same spell on the mob and it hits the mob at the same time when it does resist the spell it resists both of them.
