Actually they do, about 1 y (played hunter for 2 y and still do), but the point is having them on follow and then shooting is not an option UNLESS you tinker with them being at max 'follow stop range' and then shoot, which is a big drag to do.

er no melee was 1-5yd and ranged was 8?-43 ranged is now 5-43. thus no more deadzone. Still getting used to it though lol I keep running way away from my targets to shoot them when I hardly need to move at all to do it >.>

been playing a hunter since release... had him on vacation for a few months until they made that change (and the changes to arcane/aimed shot) and I picked him up and started making people mad in BGs

*edit* unless you are generalizing and assuming any point a hunter cant shoot their target is the deadzone in which case N/M.

I'm currently leveling 4 hunters and a priest, I personally have no worries about "what i will and wont be able to do" in the future as I'm confident I will succeed with practise.

I have over 400 days played on the hunter class (pre-boxing them) and can happily play the class with my eyes shut. Although right now my team is only level 26 I have mastered taking multiple mobs at once with trap pulling and pets tanking 4 different mobs, groups of 8 - 10 mobs between my level and 2 higher aren't a problem at all.

I cleared through deadmines at 15 (although dinged 16 during the run) and didn't really find it a problem. Of course I have the advantage of being able to play a hunter with my eyes shut and knowing what to do / when.

The trick is very much in being able to control them seperatly when times need and to be able to focus fire a fast amount very quickly. You also need to get a very strong understanding of formations, otherwise you will only ever see your hunters in melee and life becomes stupid. Personally I have several formations dependant on which hunter takes agro.

I also build my team with 2 leaders and 3 slaves, the priest and 1 hunter are in charge, the other 3 hunters are slaves of my main hunter. They will follow and mimic him until told otherwise.

I see it as a very strong / effective team with no real limitations if you can master the few "tricky" bits.

Melee is 0-4, ranged starts at 5, = 1 yard zone, due to lag you'll probably never notice the 1 yard (since melee lags its ass off, hurray rogues/druids) and people will say its non existent, which in fact it is.

But to the point, gl to the guys that start hunters, I hope you guys reach a lot of nice pve/pvp goals since hunters just are so fricking fun and nice to play and receive my vote as best class to play in all of wow. I think pve wise you can go a long way with all those lovely petsies! Keep us posted.

ah then I stand corrected my apologies. But as you said thanks to lag and other oddities its really never noticable. The greatest laugh I get is when the mages try to kill me like they used to. blink to me +nova then move out to what they think is still my deadzone and start casting a pyro, only to get a silencing shot in the face

My personal system allows for 4 boar charges + 4 intimidation + 4 freeze traps in a rotational system, although the traps are for backup. Pulling back boars upon the intimidation hitting (after a boar charge), feign deathing the character who owns the boar to remove combat and then rotating to allow the boards to go back for a second charge after the 4th intimidation.

In theory you can chain trap someone for a fair while without much effort
